The rugged life isn’t something most of us are accustomed to. In fact, most men around the world would shatter at the slightest sign of inconvenience, let alone going without power for a week, not having access to food for 24 hours, or fuel prices rising to historic and unprecedented prices.
So, how do we, as men, ensure we’ll be able to care of ourselves and others? By embracing the Rugged Life my guest, former Navy SEAL and New York Times Bestselling Author, Clint Emerson, and I discuss. Today, we talk about the threat of a Russian or (more likely) Chinese invasion, how our entire lives hinge on the factor of personal responsibility, the power of incremental improvement, and how to harness and embrace the rugged lifestyle.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:
* We need to have a back up plan
* Insulate yourself with skills and preparation
* Options give you time, time gives you options
* Being healthy is a great way to thrive things things go bad
* We need to become less dependent on China
* The root of our problems is lack of personal responsibility.

So much to say, but I'll make it short and sweet. As a truck driving country guy at age 42, I want to say thank you both for all the words spoken here in this podcast, thoroughly enjoyed is a understatement. Lots of reminders. I thank you both. I would also like to state just for the fun of it, that I never leave my home without my machete or a hatchet along with many other items. And by the way if you can't afford it don't buy it was so damn funny I almost fell out of my truck man, LOL good luck to both you guys thumbs up,

I live off grid, comes from years of playing in the mountains. Now, its been without running water for 5 years. Living in a yurt, its good medicine. Just scrolling by. A good book is "Mountaineering, Freedom of the Hills" and then there is a big learning curve to grow plants.👍

It doesn’t even have to be a national problem. Everyone will go through something in their life that they need to prepared for and have at least a little knowledge of what to do.

Hy, great interview; my father always said that need is the greatest teacher, so start on something and if you fail learn from it and try again(F.A.I.L - first atempt in learning).

First order of understanding mechanics is to understand basic geometry. Then some principles of physics. Start with a simple bolt and nut. Learn the geometry and physics that make a bolt and nut useful and thats a good start!

I had a good conversation about student loan forgiveness a while back with a bank teller. He said that he couldn't afford to pay off his loans for a Masters degree. He said he couldn't pay off the loans on a bank teller salary. I told him I was against it. I told him that they don't just got away. Other people wind up paying them and I am only responsible for my family's student loans. He looked like a deer in headlights because his debt was near 100k.

Best place to start to learn mechanics is a cheap old car or truck. A relatively modern vehicle has pretty much every aspect of structural, mechanical and electrical and transfers to a lot of different systems. Only downside is that 12 volt dc systems can create bad habits if you have to work on 110, 220 or 3 phase. Also, utilize your information resources. The schematics are out there, the methods and processes are out there. Just ADAPT AND OVERCOME!

Love the channel and program but if you say "like" one more time my head will explode. 😁 Please don't be that guy brother because we all know who uses that word over and over this way. Keep up the good work.

Imagine our world if Tesla was allowed to provide us with free wireless power. But J.P. Morgan & Edison would never allow it. Enjoy your local power Co.

As to the comment of China needing us as a cash cow....I wonder if we are losing the Petro dollar....and to be overly simplistic..,I wonder if we will no longer have much to say in the world scene....even our military appears to be in contraction I think...thoughts ?
