My quick maths let me down, but I was so excited to get the parts in the car I’ll let myself off. Can the new parts keep the engine running smoothly and keep the engine management light off?

I feel like every clio sport owner who has owned the car for more than 5 years has done this exact thing at least once :D Did the same on mine last year after cyl3 misfire and solved it just the same. Took it for a roadtrip around Scotland this weekend, 1000 very smooth and enjoyable miles. Think my injectors were on their way out for a while because after switching all 4 out it ran way better than it did pre misfire

I went through the same thing, engine started misfiring like mad, then started working only on 3 cylinders. Pro tip: if one of the injectors indicates lower resistance than others, that means it’s shot. If your spark plugs have burn marks on white ceramic insulators that means that your ignition cables are shot. And if your spark plug becomes black at the tip that might mean that your injector is spitting fuel like crazy and it’s most likely shot. I had to replace all three, all did by myself on street, that’s how I know

Did your problem ever turn up again ? I also lost the M8 bolt of the fuel rail guard if it makes you feel better , with the promise it’ll be under the car when I move haha 😂 great videos 👍🏻

Top work fella. I would test the resistance on your old injectors should be 13.something anything less than 13ohms and it’s fit for the bin. Otherwise keep them as spares! Clios love eating their injectors as much as they do lambdas and alternators

That’s a great idea! I held onto the one that looked quite clean as a spare, but some of the others might be worth keeping too 👍🏻

@@BritishRacingGreens I suspect you will find the one that was failing had a low resistance and probably was the injector feeding the cylinder with the black plug.

Another possibility would have been a crimped HT lead coming from the coil pack to a Spark plug, my intake manifold was crimping mine between the top of the engine and the manny causing a stray spark and a misfire

You do know that once all this has been changed you need to plug it in to a Renault CAN CLIP to reset the parameters for the adaptive richness correction to reanlign it to around 128, and throttle position setting reset otherwise you will struggle to get the correct fuelling and MOT time might be very hard to pass.

Did you need to get this done in the end? Just changed my injectors but havnt seen this mentioned anywhere else ? Thanks in advance

I didn’t get this done because it seemed to run fine. All the parts I used were the original OEM standard so would hopefully work with the standard programmed tolerances. It might still be recommended though, I don’t know.

Engine now sounds quite smooth. Is there a difference in MPG before & after replacing these parts?

Thanks, it does sound a lot better. Too early to say on the MPG, I’ve only done about a mile since fitting the new parts. I’ll report back once I’ve got a better read.
