Im about to start training at home as well - look into some 1000lbs sawhorses or better yet, build yourself two platforms to put on both sides incase you gotta bail. Dumping 500lbs on the ground aint too good

He's not using all bumper plates on a lifting platform lmao. Also if your doing low bar back squats it can be kinda painful to dump since the bar scrapes down ur back since it is situated differently.

@@BloachismStrengthandFitness what the olympic weight lifters learn in such situations is to jump forward so that it does not hit the back as you've mentioned - especially usefull when doing snatch. It's just the basics I learned and use them instictively.

It's a Yukon bar from Titan Fitness. A less curved variation is more generally called a buffalo bar (this one has quite a curve). It helps keep your shoulders happier since you don't reach back as far like with a straight bar. It has also helped with my elbow pain that I got from straight bar squats. When I have a competition coming up I switch back to a straight bar for a couple weeks to get used to it again.

Thank you. Nothing's in the way of the walkout. I have weights strategically placed on the stands to weigh them down and weights placed on either side of me to prevent the patio tiles from slipping when I push my feet out. Everything is down there for a specific reason.
