That closet wasn't bad at all. When my grandmother died we found a 5 foot tall grapevine deer stuffed in a small bedroom closet. My sister whipped open the door expecting to see clothing and screamed BAMBI at the top of her lungs then slammed the door shut. After we recovered from being startled then busting out laughing, we had to wrestle the dumb thing to free it. I still can't imagine how an 82 year old woman managed to wedge it into that little space.

I love how patient you are with your sister while still holding her accountable with humor and love. I’m so impressed by how great she did with her clothes! I’ve attempted to pare down my clothes so many times, and I make a little progress here and there but it’s so hard to let go of things I like that might fit in a few months. Unfortunately those few months have become indefinite. 😅

For these bedroom declutters that seem to be so hard, it might help for Sherri to think about not just how she wants to live generally but how she wants her bedroom to feel. Close your eyes and picture the most idealistic, serene, beautiful bedroom.

I’ve gone through my closet 3 or 4 times over the last few years and went from six bursting drawers and a full closet down to a quarter of a closet and three drawers. I don’t miss the massive amount of clothes and I’m so glad I went through the process. It’s hard work, it takes time, and it is so so worth it!

Like everyone else I’m loving the sister series. You work well together and you’re both cuter than can be. I live several hundred miles from my sisters, who all live in the same neighborhood. Because I can’t have them here to give me support and encouragement when I do organizing projects, I text pics of whatever I’m working on, as I get started, and then I text after pics. It’s the next best thing to having them here with me.

The girls work so well together. I love how you respect her boundaries and permit her to make assertive decisions regarding her stuff. I love this series.❤❤❤

Watching your sisters decluttering is my all-time favorite videos to watch as of lately, I love watching them on my way home from work to give me motivation by the time I get home and keep my mind on track to the bigger picture I have for my own decluttering journey. Thoroughly enjoy this series with your sister! It sure is easier to have someone to do it with you and give that little push. I always say I wish I add family members with specific careers: doctor, veterinarian, hair stylist, plumber, electrician, organizer, carpenter, mechanic.😊

You might want to read the Madame Chic series. She has ten basic items a season, but sweaters, scarves, handbags do not count. I can do that but in categories. Ten basic for work (but I went twelve six shirts/bottoms because sometimes I work Saturdays). Ten for non-work, but going out, Church, dinner, formal, weddings, funerals, etc.) I have less than ten for workout, hanging around the house, but ok if someone stops by. But winter workout and summer workout total more than ten. I find this works well. But I do limit myself to clothes that fit, if don't fit I put away, too. Best wishes.

I have a pj drawer full of lounge wear. What I did is made them into sets and anything that didn't have a set I decluttered. I still have a ton but was able to get rid of some that way

That’s a lot for 2 hours!! I love a good “yes-no-maybe” closet declutter, but it usually takes about 5 hours! Great job!!!

That was hard. I suck at downsizing clothes so I just did the trick where you turn all your hangers backwards and when you wear/wash them you put them back the right way. I did it on a January first and the next year every hanger still backwards got donated. I did it three years in a row and have about half the clothes I used to have. It does keep me rotating my clothes cuz I look through the backwards hangers for something to wear and I used to just put on the same things.

She is doing so good!! Narrowing down your closet to 31 items is huge. I'm so proud if y'all. Great job Sis. Keep it up!

Great job girls! Like Sherry I find decluttering clothes very hard too. After a Kon Marie disaster I tried this and it helped so so much---I put bows on 2 empty hangers and put them in the middle. As I wore, washed, and rehung things then put them between the bowed hangers. At the end of the season the clothes I had not worn at all were still outside the bowed hangers. It also helped that I have an ex-large sliding doors closet to myself so I put spring/summer on 1 side and fall/winter on the other. I had to do it my way. But 33 things? I'm just not there yet! Ha ha.

During the last couple years of my career I had a capsule wardrobe. Took months before one person noticed 🤣 Best thing I ever did regarding clothing.

I love how she went thru them so fast. I don’t have much clothing but it’s mostly because I only own 57 hangers….so I only have 57 items which is 10 more items than I used to have. That’s my limit, other than t-shirts for work which I fold. That’s coats, shirts, sweaters, long sleeves, tank tops, pants, shorts, skirts. It might seem like a lot, but it’s still but it’s 90% of the stuff I wear often. I even dwindled my shoes from 42 pairs from when I was in HS to about 10. I own two purses but honestly just use my backpack, purses are for church. I’m still right with you because I still feel like a pack rat at times. This content helps me to see the stuff I should work on too. I’m so happy to see how beautiful you sisters home will become, just seeing it decluttered gives the room a fresh breath of air and even feel like the home itself is no longer in stress. Keep going! It’s so great to see it transform.

I decluttered my clothes and then do a capsule wardrobe for the season. It is so much faster to get ready and I know all the clothes fit. If I run across something that doesn’t fit well or I don’t like anymore it goes right into my donate box. Great job ladies!

She did an awesome job! Getting rid of that bag of hangers will free up so much room. Try narrowing down pajamas, work out clothes and lounge items to a certain amount. Maybe she'll pick a number to agree on. I've never understood why so many think they need 30 pairs of pajamas; I think 5-7 pairs for winter and 5-7 pairs for summer is plenty.

What I love is the way you are with everyone and you have a gentle talk and it’s so easy to listen to you for hours and watch you transforming lives from a deep kindness. Pup is just the best a defiant one like my own😂… and in the middle of everything! Helping organise it seems a true Gaffer (pointer person). I watched your home cabinet closet clear out with the door hangs organisers you built and hung up… and I was like that’s it! This 🏡 is getting it! I went about and began my own declutter after 5yrs of somehow accumulating so much! Two teenagers grown… furniture chucked… hse re-ordered! I have one draw! One paperwork stash 1/4 a tree trunk high if I towered it… and currently sewing kits and odd wire boxes left to do! On the dining table so I have no choice to finish. Said goodbye to heals I never wear- had to take a photo- why that helped was because I kept scratched up shoes just incase🥴😬🫠why I ask but it helped me let go of it and feel just incase I wanted something similar I’d know the brand. The went though… some 15 pairs of heals! Let them memories ‘walk on by🎶🎤🎶’ I love the music u use; so relaxing and I haven’t heard it anywhere else. Truly you channel is standing out to me above all the others because of all those reasons. Sisters hse came together and is a truly beautiful house. Those teal voils are stunning. Such a pretty room all matching💕😇 your both helping me in the background- tysm

Forget about someone else's number on the internet, Sherry! A great start for you is to just declutter 1. What you DO NO LIKE any more 2. What DOES NOT FIT 3. What's TOO WORN or STAINED in any way That will get anybody pared down. You don't have to be a minimalist or only have some random number of items. Looks great! Same hangers throughout as well. Congratulations on a productive closet clean out in 2+ hours. Anyone can do this! Offer to help a friend and have her help you!

Good job Sister! I'm VERY impressed by the pared down keep in the closet result. I think you ladies did a great job of getting to the "20%" pile of clothes. That is, we wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time anyway. All you did was peal back and remove the 80% she's not actually wearing for a variety of reasons. I'll bet she feels happier with her wardrobe and everything about her clothes is easy for the next 3 months. She'll feel cute in all the clothes she has left because everything fits, works well, her tops are all in beautiful bright colours and patterns that will make her feel cheerful. It's going to give her the mental leg up she needs to view EVERYTHING in her house with a 20%/ 80% mindset. Most people end up getting rid of about 80% of their stuff. I've been there. Just assure her that once the item is out of the house, she'll NEVER think of it again. And that will free up her mind BIG TIME. Keep going! Let's see more! 💜💜

Ladies, thank you once again for sharing. I too have a limited wardrobe and it does wear out fast. The beauty of that is, I can get pieces to replace the worn out ones. And now I only wear what feels great on me!!!

I did something similar last year. but I gave myself a spring/summer wardrobe, and a fall/winter wardrobe because of the extreme weather changes. I put away the rest for a year. I just went through the clothes packed away and got rid of more than half last week
