Clouds without Water Session 5 - The Hurt of Healing

Justin Peters' series Clouds Without Water, is taken from a reference in the book of Jude 12 to false teachers. Specifically, Clouds Without Water is a biblical critique of the Word-Faith/New Apostolic Reformation/Prosperity gospel. The prosperity gospel essentially holds that it is always God’s will for a Christian to be wealthy and always God’s will for a Christian to be physically healed. If we struggle financially or get sick, then prosperity and physical healing are guaranteed provided that we have enough faith or sow a seed (give money) to a preacher in order to reap a harvest.

I'll be honest with you. I'm so strung out. In full addiction. I'm 53. I've watched Justin's videos/work for a long time. I'm grateful and happy that he came to Sovereign Grace Baptist Church to spend some time with ya'll. His research, teaching, and fellowship are things I enjoy so much. I am drawn to every new video. I really need to get around some folks like you all there at the church. My heart and body are in so much pain from what I put myself through. I know Father God, Jesus Christ, and his Holy Spirit put this 5 part series in my path early this morning. Thank you Sovereign Grace. Thank you Justin. Joe I'm 59 I'm in the same shape you are. I've been on heavy meds 33 yrs. 3,yrs ago they started taking them Im on them for a crushed back ribs neck, had surgery they took my meds now I have to make it the best way I can. I get so sick bout 20 days each month. I lost my mama 2021 COVID then uncle then August. 10th,2021 they took my wive off life support she died in minutes then September14th,my brother COVID. Now this past month my doctor wrote me a moth meds. Then he said find you another doctor I'm retiring. Buddy we still got Lord Jesus King and Savior I'll see my family again cause Jesus lives they do too. I pray you get better. I also watch Justin,John. McAuthor Gary Habermas . A long list . You came upon a good teacher of the word! God is so good! The prosperity gospel is popular but very dangerous and misleading. Bless you, Justin for your work in the Lord. I'm68 and was diagnosed with throat cancer last February. I have had to go through surgery for a trachea procedure. I have asked the Lord to heal me. So far there has been a few smaller miracles in my life, even though I almost died to get them. Now they tell me most likely my heart isn't strong enough for chemotherapy. I'm having a PET Scan soon. Can our Lord heal me? Oh, yes! He sure can. Will He? I don't know yet. But, like the three Hebrew children, if He heals me, I win. If not I'm going to be with Him sooner than planned and I still win. I have learned much from your teachings. Keep going!

My wife and I will definitely be praying for Deb. What a blessing to the Lord she is and a beautiful example of how, through our aliments and hardships, we can bring glory and honor to God! Many of us could only pray that we would be as faithful facing an issue such as her.

I am a Pastor in Texas,, Recently I was asked to go to the home of a 54 yr old man who had a tumor on his liver since February that had spread to his spine plus he had sepsis,,,he had quit eating and drinking and was turned over to hospice care,,, But I believe there’s nothing the the Name of Jesus can’t beat,,, We laid hands on him, rebuking the cancer in Jesus Name and declaring that he will live and not die! ,,,,, the next day he began eating and drinking again,, 10 days later his Radiation oncologist confirmed that the tumor has died and mri showed his spine healed as well ,, HE HAS BEEN DECLARED CANCER FREE and is currently doing rehab to get his strength back CLOUDS WITHOUT WATER ?? ,,,,,, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY JESUS!! ( and this is only one of many testimonies I have)

It's as simple as this: if it's God's will to heal an individual, then that's that. If it's not, then that's also that. It's all up to the sovereign God, Yahweh. Not us. Not our power. Not our "declaring". Just God.

Came here randomly. I grew up on these dumb pastors, and it's only by God being involved in my life that I'm a Christian. Sorry to be so insulting, but these guys (not the guy talking, the guys he's talking about) taught my family and I so poorly, I'm very busy unlearning so very much crap🙄 How many people have turned their backs on God because of these careless jerks?! And others. There's a reason there's a warning on people teaching. So grateful for those who try their best. Thank You God for better teaching❤️❤️❤️😇

in context, what it means is that if a person isn't sincere with God. If they want something now but intend to keep living their sinful lifestyle, He knows it and will not answer them. Otoh, if you are sincere, He will definitely hear the prayers of a sinner. WE ARE ALL SINNERS before He saves us, so He would have to hear, in order for us to be Born Again. I pray you will call to Him and He will show you.

It has been said that the only prayer God hears from the unredeemed is, “Lord have mercy on me, a sinner.” In actuality, being able to pray that prayer in true repentance means God has already redeemed you.

If you could fault yourself out of healing and mercy it would follow that you could condition or obligate God to heal you. And that would be deicide. The blasphemy is as obvious as it is shocking.

I lost 4 family members in 2021to covid wive mama brother uncle. My brother was 3 weeks apart uncle same day as wife mama few months before them. Now heaven is on my mind and more real.If mama cld call me what wld she say that amazed her the most. I just wonder if some of these people that had NDE,s is real, they sure do seem to be happy . Lot a prove . The one one lady new about that lincon penny was laying out on a ledge of parking deck . The doctor sent a janator to see and he came back in room holding it she told him the date.Then her grand daughters husband was in waiting.and he told another son n law I wish old bat hurry up and die,, The lady said she cld seen him and heard him,she called into her room in front of everyone and told him that she heard him and that wasn't nice.Gary haber mass is fact checking them. Justin do you think its possible??

So, I guess the Israelites were walking around cursing up a storm using God's name and that's why God gave that commandment? No. You might be surprised to find that most Christians use God's name in vain. To use something "in vain" means to use it without meaning, with emptiness. Hence, why God accused the Israelites of praising Him with their lips while their hearts were far from Him. How many Christians ask God for help, then take things into their own hands, make their own plans, or manipulate a situation to their own advantage? This would be taking the Lord's name in vain -- they consulted God on a matter with no intention of waiting for His response.
