Yeah we finally got that scene of a Statue of Liberty with the head ripped off and in the middle of a street.I remember the movie poster Escape From New York that had a similar image.

I live in NY and working vigorously in the city when this movie was released, and the advertisement for this movie was on point. really want more sequels, and I love the direction of the sequels, they are so asymmetrical.

It got 2 other movies that take place in the same universe, but they have plots extremely unattached to the first one so they feel like completely seperate films

Just saying if I went and saw a Godzilla movie and it was from hound level I’d be soooo pissed. It’s a fun experiment-but the format, in my opinion, fails J.J Abram’s initial goals of making a monster movie.

I've never seen the first 18 minutes of this movie which makes me think that they really are unnecessary since it's 20 minutes of plot that I never knew and never actually needed since everything about the characters is conveyed through the rest of the movie.

How did they figure out the cloverfeild monster was a juvenile? Was that like brought in the Cloverfield paradox movie or did the producer's mention it in a behind the scenes thing?

If a horror movie doesn't have at least one "cat time", then I'd say it ain't that scary. But thanks for showing where I gotta look to finally see that darn thingy at the end.

I watched this movie at the cinema when I was in high school at the time. Am I the only one who got motion sickness watching it 😅? I remember wanting to throw up so badly, and kept my eyes closed several time to calm the sickness.

My first experience with this whole “mystery box” marketing. Didn’t do the film any favours because the film could never live up to the speculation. But years later, it’s a decent monster flick. Certainly nastier than I expected

I was never a fan of the monster design. It looks like a chimp and a praying mantis got freaky with each other, and it just doesn't have that iconic feeling to it for me. If JJ wanted a monster to match Godzilla, he probably shouldn't have the monster in its baby chicken form the whole movie.

The viral marketing was really off-putting and had very little to do with the actual film. Slusho isn’t a thing. Slusho will never be a thing, JJ.

nah. I pass on "found footaged" movies. I have zero tolerance for shaky camera work. THUMBNAIL makes it look like you're the Kaiju. 😏

The first movie was great. The second was interesting. It really should not have been a Cloverfield movie though and was fine without the stupid ending. The third movie, well everyone involved should be banned from making films. That was such a shameless attempt at a cash grab with very obvious reshoots to shoe in Cloverfield, pretty lame.
