I felt for Russell in this exchange, and it showed the lack of insight or depth to some people in the face of tangible evidence. Also his demeaning nature towards Russell in his search of something greater than drugs and pu**y. What a waste of an opportunity to have that level of depth in front of you and just laugh back with no substance. It was similar to an overgrown adolescent with no maturity who only response is so what. Noit to.mention the structure of the interview is he basically gets wasted and incoherent for the second half. This man showed how out of touch, privileged and nieve he is. Its not even like he makes an attempt to disect or understand. He comes across so ignorant it almost appears to be a character or satire which is the greatest insult and condemnation of his stupidity.

Good point about Bill's "shtick." It doesn't hold up against the depth of thought in Russell's conversation. I was thinking of the axioms "In wine, truth" and "Out of the depths of the heart does the mouth speak." Bill shows himself to be shallow and self-centered. Not a good look.

Brand indirectly, tho probably purposefully, pushes Mahar's button by associating drugs/sex with what an adolescent thrives for... making me wonder if he was probably also deliberately clipping away at Bill's penis, represented by the cigar, representing Bill's adolescent values... perhaps I am reading too much into the cigar thing (thanx Freud) but its just the type of clipping thing that a genius (Brand) who observes many levels might work with

I find that Bill lighting up a joint and taking shots in front of Russell, especially after making light of the spiritual journey that Russell has been on and being so flippant about his sobriety, shows his true colors. He truly doesn’t care about anyone and is perfectly comfortable living in his fantasy. Russell is certainly not perfect but has learned a lot of humility and wisdom lately, which he try’s earnestly to share with Bill but Bill truly doesn’t care. He’s comfortable accepting his echo chamber and laughing off anyone that tries to challenge him. He’s not interested in the truth unless it suits him and benefits him. He’s a typical pleasure seeking hedonist atheist it’s really sad to see.

I found this quite funny😂 there was so many different sects of Christianity even back a couple thousand years ago. There were Christians who saw the Bible as allegory instead of literal fact. I feel like the rise in power of the Catholic Church is a big reason as to why so many see it as strictly literal. But who really knows🤷‍♂️ I’m far from an expert on the subject so take what I say with a grain of salt😂

Its impressive how hes unaffected completely with Bill serving himself right in front. You know a million thoughts ran through his head and he even looked at it directly but hes at such a high spiritual level that I dont think hes even 1% phased or thinking somewhere deep down "should I? Could I? Im not that person anymore, 1 won't hurt"

Watching this it seems like Bill has only matured in age . . . In a lot of ways he's still a hedonistic adolescent who's main concerns are his own pleasure and comfort. Russell was the same way, when he was young. But he became a man and put away childish things.

Bill is so literal, British slang & nomenclature goes right over his head. I struggled to get through this one. Russell is so articulate and patient - it’s like coming up for air when he speaks after being drowned in Bill’s drunken combative commentary. Russell being sober & having notes came for a true convo and Bill just wanted to drink and hang. I’m exhausted…

Lenny Bruce said it well - "There is nothing sadder than an aging hipster." Bill doesn't realize it but he's fallen behind - he no longer has his edge. Life in a celebrity bubble and habitual consumption of corporate news (propaganda) has left him equal parts cynical and naive (not to mention emotionally arrested). The antidote to this was sitting right next to him, but he didn't realize it.

Zelenski, while probably a garbage person generally, is just a hostage of the US state department. Believe me, when the cia backed OCRP released the report on “corruption” with a curated B-list of wealthy people that were hiding money in offshore accounts and Zelenski was the only person of real significance in the report- I said oh shiit we are about to go to war with Russia. This is a common cia tactic. If zelenski didn’t agree to our demands, the state department would have used their people on the ground in Ukraine to boost the corruption stories for a few months until the Nazis in Ukraine skinned him alive in the town square.

Hell yeah, I thought he was going to seriously lose his shit over that. I think Russell was rather taken aback at bill's stupidity. I do suspect Bill spotted his own hypocrisy a little later, he started saying something that was clearly going to show himself up and hurriedly changed the subject. Idiot.
