The man is a legend ! Notice how calm and confident he is; how fluid he is; how he plays with very little anxiety. See how he efficiently loses opponents. Most of all, a lot of what you are seeing are international games and especially at 2:39 he is toying with yellow-shirt Brazilian players. That is almost unheard of (unless you were German in 2014 -hahaha - some will get it, some wont !). Did you notice him losing Ronaldinho at 3:37 and Beckham at 5:17 ? Very nice that you did this ! Thank you.

he sure is. Zidane is of Algerian descent and that "scissor kick" you refer to is one of the best goals ever scored in the history of football. Take a closer look at the full goal to get a better sense of his brilliance. The accuracy and timing it took to achieve will blow you away. I really do truly enjoy your reactions. He is the best central midfielder of my lifetime. Impeccable first touch great control great passer of the ball control the pace of a game. He is an excellent player. A player I miss watching in the modern game.

@@Triciamichelle_yt Zidane was incredible but for the man himself the best player he ever played against (and his favourite player) was Paul Scholes (formerly of Manchester United and England). You should do a video on him maybe using this 'Paul Scholes - Ultimate Passing and Longshots'. At the end of the video there is a list of qoutes from the greats of world football with their views about Scholes. At Manchester United he was nicknamed 'Sat Nav' because he would always find you. :)

Actually, he was More of an offensive or attacking midfielder. People nowadays refer to him as a centralmidfielder because that position has pretty much disappeared in European football

@@Triciamichelle_yt It shows in your videos. You take time and absorb the culture and the facts that stand out. For me as an Englishman, Zidane was quite simply the greatest footballer ever, he was effortless on the ball and I think if you are lucky enough to be born at a time when a true genius is at their prime you should do a service and watch them, hear them etc. Zidane was so much a revelation in football that we actually got used to him! We got used to the best footballing skills every weekend and every tournament. My all time favourite goal is Dennis Bergkamp in 98 world cup but my all time greatest player has to be Zidane for the attitude, skill and off the wall thinking to how this beautiful game should be played. You are richer for knowing he existed, trust me.

ajajajjajajajjaja still not better than Beckenbauer. He was fan voted in an era where Beckenbauer didnt play and they were 123,582 -122,569. Zidane was amazing. but far from the best of history like Pele Maradona Beckenbauer and Cruyff, but thats not a bad thing.

When France played Brazil in the World Cup final in France (Brazil had Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, etc...), Zidane seemingly single handedly controlled the midfield and gave the French offense great pass after great pass...oh, and scored two goals with his head to win the World Cup for France. I had never seen one player dominate a game like that against such a quality opponent!

Zidane was a playmaker, you can compare his task with a point guard in basketball: his function is to control the tempo of the game, to organize the team, to give assists and sometimes to score. In my opinion he is the best playmaker in history, as you said, everything seemed easy to him. Once, when Zidane was playing for Real Madrid, Magic Johnson was invited to see his first football match. At the end of it he said: "One of the most inspiring nights of my life, Zidane is a phenomenon, as good as me and Michael Jordan put together." I'm french and I can tell you here Zizou (his nickname) is a demi-god! 😂

As an active player they called him Maestro, because he was like a conductor of them game while at the same time being a virtuoso. As you said he made it look easy, but he also made it look beautiful in this simplicity. Almost everyone can do the roulette (his favorite trick) but hardly anymore can make it that effective and elegant at the same time. And apart from that he was probably the best playmaker (in American Football roughly the equivalent of a Quarterback) of his generation, with great vision and a great sense for strategy and tactics. It made a great french team into an amazing french team, that won the world cup 1998 and the european championship 2000 and if he was not sent off , potentially the World Cup 2006 (in which he carried France heavily). After his career with ended after that 2006 (with that legendary sent off), he become a coach. And what a coach he became, the first one to ever win the Champions League (basically the European Club Championship) 3 consecutive with Real Madrid. Surely one of the best players and coaches in history and a very humble and adorable human being. Well, I am a fan anyway

I'm not sure if people who haven't played soccer would truly appreciate how good Zidane is. His ball control, touch and dribbling is mind-blowing and he does every move looking imperious! He's not just dribbling past players, he does it in style with flair and unexpected skill moves. Zidane was strong and very mobile for a 6' tall midfielder. In soccer physical ability may get you to a third division team, but to develop the touch, the skill and the understanding of the game to be able to change games is 1 a billion!

The dreaded Zed factor aka the wizard aka the ball god aka Zidane. One of the best ever to do it, one of the most skillful players ever. one of the few to win all major competitions and was instrumental achieving those success. The reason why he so great Is not just his skills or technique as you could say all the other players you watched maybe Better at that. But it's when and how Zidane did it. The era, the competitions, the conditions, the teams he did it against. It's quite hard to explain the OG greats these days

One of my favs. THere are a lot of very skilled players, but Zidane was more than a player he was an artitst. A lot of players use speed to go away he just dribbled walking, so composed. More than just a player he was an artist. I dare to say he is the player with the most aesthetical game of all time.

He's one of my top 3 or 4 favorites. Echoing how you described him, I was a fan of his game because of how ELEGANT and EFFORTLESS he made everything seem. The number 10 is traditionally the most important number in football, given to the player with the most creativity. That's what he embodied in his playing career, not to mention how he comports himself off the field. I'm glad you reacted to one of my favorites. Welcome to the football fam.

In my eyes he is the most completed Footballcaptain of all time. He is the pure responibility, a true leader and teamplayer. I miss such a great Captain in today´s Football. (In his last moment´s as a Pro, World Cup final, he get in the final play the Red Card, because an opponent Player insultet his little Sister badly, i do not doom him for that, in this moment he proved to me that he is not a machine but still a human beeing.) When you just see the highlights, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo seem more spectacular and hence more impressive but Zidane was clearly the most consistent and therefore best player of this era. He made the difference when it comes to winning the game.

Hi Tricia, the summary of Zidane is "respect". He is the best Captain, that game has ever seen. There where faster players than him, more technical skilled, better strikers. His skill was that he made "any" team a class better than it was. He does everything, not even what was necessary but also in the right moment. He played, coaches, boost the moral, command and was the perfect teamplayer and leader. He is the personification of responsibility and a truly footballofficer. When this man retired, I stopped watching football. I was too depressed. When I heard he was coaching Real Madrid, I watched them again....and that's when I became obsessed with football again....because Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Isco....look them all up. His former Juventus coach marcello lippi once said that Zidane was a phenomenon player i did not have to explain anything to him the man knew everything. They were and there are great players but for me Zidane was different and he had everything that's why he was the best player of all times. he also proved as a Coach winning three champion league in the last three years something that's never been done before. He is a Maestro.

Zidane's best skill wasn't even his technical ability that video showcases but his vision on the field and the ability to control the tempo of the entire match and provide incredible accurate passes. You should watch Totti next. The Roman Emperor!

Zidane is an old school number 10. The most technical and difficult place in the field. One part of Zidan's magic is that he makes his team play better. always. He was so Humble even if considered the best player in the world. A symbol for North Africa.

I absolutely advice you to watch Dennis Bergkamp. He once had the best three goals of the month in the PL. His touch can rival that of Zidane. Great possesion player, playmaker, assist and goal scorer. He has the total package. Also gracefull to watch. Other players to watch could be Iniesta (best Spanish player), Suarez (Uruguays best player), Buffon (if you want to see a keeper), Roberto Carlos (best Brazilian wing back all-time?). For the views you can do Wayne Rooney (best English player last decade). But I would like you to see Dennis Bergkamp, pure poetry

It is much harder for 6' tall heavier and larger player to get past defenders than the smaller guys, because of the lower center of gravity and less inertia. Zidane is not the fastest player, so he had to use skills and trickery to dribble the defenders. He sucks them in by giving them the illusion that they can win the ball with a tackle, but as soon as they commit and go down, he moves the ball the opposite direction and walks away! Another great thing about Zidane is his near 360 awareness of his surroundings. It's uncanny how he can be in middle of being challenged by two players and he manages to fool them both and pass the ball to the team mates!
