No, you take the cab floor plate off and build a cheap a-frame. Can't tell you how many times I worked on these things out of Kansas City. I just sent the 1155 show to my best friend and former colleague with the company with snarky comments about the replacements. Keep them coming! I still have scabs! :)

Loved the “breached twins”. Also, in the middle of water pump replacement on 1100. Want to replace fan belt also…there has to be a trick to getting belt out from front hydraulic pump shaft….grateful for any help!

thanks! you should be able to pull the 4 bolts that hold the pump shaft to the balancer and it will slide ahead just enough to get the belt out and a new one in. I can do a vid on it in the near future. my belt is looking pretty bad 😉

Seems to me ya'll just changed this clutch. Wait, no that was the Stieger. This had steering cylinder problems. So now out comes the clutch after a very short time. Because ya'll never ran this hardy beast that long. Seems short to me with this worn out Massey.

You maybe need to look at the dates on these videos. This was 3 years ago on the 1805 when I first got it. I bought it with a bad clutch, and this was when I changed it. I didnt know the Steiger existed at this point

That one came with the tractor. I did however just check eBay and there is one available

I got an 1805 I’m trying to do the clutch on. How did you get that shaft out? I can’t for the life of me get the jackshaft out from between the engine and pumps. I just don’t fit

I assume you mean the big dumb bell shaft, it’s not easy. 1. Get all 8 bolts out, 2 you have to hammer a wedge on either side between the belt pulley and the splined hub. The pulley will pop loose and you can wedge it back toward the bell housing. Next you pry between the dumbbell and the hub, and that hub will move back toward the bell housing. You “should” be able to wiggle the shaft out at that point. If you’d like I can make a video on that sometime

@@jtsbarnngrill6873 that would be awesome if you could make a video on it sometime. I got it out but it wasn’t the proper way lol, I used a jack between the trans and the engine and pushed them apart just far enough to get the shaft out. Had to loosen motor mounts.

@The Proxy Moxie if you loosen your engine mounts you need to make sure you get the engine and trans lined up perfect otherwise your jackshaft bushings will wear out quickly

Wassup man I noticed you have a 454 square body I’m swapping a 454 out of a 1990 454 ss into my 86 square body can I use the same distributor or would I have to get another since the 1990 has a computer

that is correct, you would have to put a HEI distributor on it if it’s all stock 1986. are you putting a 4 bbl carb on it?

2 ?s: (1) @ 4:10 what is the yellow contraption going toward the tractor and what are you doing & (2) @ 12:40 what is that noise that sounds like the tractor running and if it is, why? 🦩

Answers… 1. Yellow contraption is a boom pole on my 165, I was using that as a prop for my come-along to lower the clutch assembly to the ground. 2. That was the 165 running again, boom pole attached and come-along winching the clutch assembly to the top of the axle, so I could then muscle it onto the transmission. Hope that clears it up a bit 😉
