Terrorism had been eliminated in Punjab in 1990s by Congress CM S. Beant Singh who has sacrificed his life for elemination of terrorism in Punjab. Besides S.Darshan Singh Kay Pee, Sh. Jagat Ram Sood of Congress had sacrificed their lives for peace of Punjab. Congress government established Government medical Amritsar, Patiala, GNDU, Punjab and Punjabi, Technical Universities in Punjab . PIMS Jalandhar Leather Institute Jalandhar etc besides schools colleges in urban and rural Punjab since 1947.Literacy rate of Punjab was 15%in 1947 and Punjabi folk song in 1950s on illiteracy of Punjab was famous in those days that was " Munshi Khat Likh De ley Lai Panch Pitaase" and today Literacy rate has been increased from 15%to 80%. The educated people studied in University are today contributed in development of Punjab and India. A book can be written on initiatives taken by Congress for development and social welfare of people of Punjab and India. So Congress is the best party for welfare of common men of society in Punjab as well as India. GNDU Punjab, Punjabi Universities were established by Congress PIMS Jalandhar, Leather Institute Jalandhar were established by Congress Government . Literacy rate of Punjab today is ,80%due to timely initiatives taken by Congress Government in Punjab as well as in India. People of Punjab studied in colleges and universities have made their contribution for development of Punjab and India A book can be written on initiatives taken by Congress Government for welfare of common people of India.
