I've never been super into wrestling until I recently started watching shoot interviews with people like Greg Valentine, which means I've seen all the recent stuff about CM Punk and Tony Kahn and the AEW. All I knew about CM Punk was when he tried UFC. I really didn't think much of him then. WEll I just watched the match where he won the belt from John Cena. CM Punk is a legit star and a great worker. That was match was great, he sold and sold and sold and sold and so did John Cena. On one hand I can see how he's basically doing a Mel Gibson in Lethal Warrior imitation, but he's doing on the mat in the WWE against some really great talent and selling it like a genius. I have mad respect for CM Punk now that I've actually seen him "wrestle".

This is what I understand from what DJ was saying. CM Punk right out the gate was granted 500k salary and ppv points as soon as ge signed with the UFC. DJ didnt get that salary numbers or ppv privileges until his first fight with ccc. He has a problem with that. The 500k salary and ppv points was a thing at the time only granted to champions or folks in the running for champ, and yet CM punk got those without having to walk the path and make the trip up the ladder over years of work that many champs like DJ had to do. Now, in my opinion, its not cm punks fault for any of that, he was presented with those opportunities and took them. But thats what Johnson's problem lies, that he wasnt granted the same financial benifits that many others who arent in the same realm of talent or skill got so easily.
