Welcome to the wonderful world of Monopoly, a board game I'm sure you've all played at least once in your lives. There's plenty of content on KZfaq, trying to teach you how to win at Monopoly, what strategies work the best. Today we're doing something very different. We're seeing if we can win Monopoly with one of the worst strategies you could possibly devise, a strategy wherein you don't build any houses or hotels.

Nah,hate to be that guy but here I go... They only last so long because people don't play by the rules and don't play to win (trying to get lots of money instead of pushing people to debt) The average game still does last around an hour, but still...

Though I've done it 1v1 on the 97 handheld game a few times myself, waiting for the repair cards to show up, then usually Hot Shot goes bankrupt to my railroads, I let him have red/yellow, I attack with orange/magenta/light blue.

Today, we're going to find out: How many hours can you hold a Monopoly board hostage before your friends punch you in the face? I like these occasional board game challenges! I had a feeling it wouldn't be an if, but a when... but I didn't realize that when would involve over seven hours, wow.

Okay this is part of why I love CMeeCraft He doesn't focus on near impossible challenges like other challenge youtubers do. So you get things like this. An interesting idea I feel none of us would think to try. Edit: Also This was a lovely birthday present that I wasn't expecting. So Thank you greatly.

You'd be surprised, the AI in these games are very easy to manipulate into making dumb decisions. Did this all the time, turns out the AI is typically really easy to win against even on higher difficulties because it doesn't have basic reasoning to realize you bought the last of the board from it and it is a forced loss now.

As a long time Monopoly player. I can confirm you can do this. It just requires a lot of patience and other people who don't understand how to build houses and hotels. That or people so stubborn they are completely unwilling to trade any properies.

As a long time fan of monopoly, this sounds like an insane challenge. I'm excited to see how it plays out. I'm guessing both railroads and utilities are going to be SUPER useful. Also making sure your opponents can't get any houses.

@@peaman3905 I quite enjoy how it has much more strategy than most board games, but still has luck so some bad players still have a chance. I like the bidding aspects and working around your opponents, giving them just enough and taking everything you need. Basically I like winning by robbing people through unfair trades in my favor.

@@ElariaFlori I honestly forget what it was, but one KZfaqr, ProZD, game a more skill-based version of Monopoly in one of his board game lists, if I knew anyone who liked board games I personally would prefer that

Things would definitely be much different if playing against real people, since computer players let you monopolize the whole board! Most people are hesitant to trade if it even gives you a single monopoly.

It would be impossible. By the way the Normal Difficulty AI in Monopoly Plus is *worse* than level 2 cpu's on the classic MONOPOLY iPad app from 2010.

my prediction is YES, its pretty easy to negochat deals with cpus into going in your favor, even my dad could do that in monopoly streets for ps3

It's hilarious how bad the AI was when it came to your trade offers here. I know that in the NES version of Monopoly, the AI puts major value on completed color sets, and you'd have to pay several hundred bucks more than the value of a single property for the AI to be willing to break it up. Or, you'd have break up one of your own monopolies in the process, perhaps with a little bit of cash added in if your monopoly was of a weaker color group.

i remember monopoly on sega genesis, where AI had really quirky rules for haggling, and you can win by exploiting thier AI and buying all the good stuff from them relatively cheaply (and if you are lucky, extremely cheaply).

This seems like torture. HOW BOUT A LITTLE MORE? IDEA: Try and win Monopoly under the same rules EXCEPT you get the cash from free parking. Don’t own any of the coloured properties (so railroads, waterworks and the other one I’m forgetting are still available)

So, I actually tried this one. Level 2 is as far as you can get if you're a perfectionist. Turns out Shuttle Loops are terrible at dealing with bottlenecks.

You know, it might actually technically be possible, if your opponents land on luxury tax and income taxes every cycle around the board and you avoid landing on their properties. Astronomically low odds though.

Still blows my mind that this game doesn't have an option for bots while playing online. There is bots available, but only for local/offline play. So if you have one friend you want to play with online, you have to 1v1 him, no bots to round out the player count. Absolutely moronic design decision, and I have no clue why they limited it.

Honestly, it was a name that the game auto-generated which I had never encountered before. It looked visually like a feminine name to me, but after reading your comment I think I was probably just wrong. My apologies, I guess I'll know better now if I encounter it again.
