This interviewer is too incompetent to interview someone like Ray Dalio. She keeps cutting him off (which is rude to say the least), asks the same types of questions and should be......fired or asked to interview film stars etc.....What's wrong with CNBC Singapore?

Why oh why does Ray Dalio do interviews with unprepared and uneducated interviewers who ask the same simplistic questions? Seriously, she kept asking him about a US recession and gold prices despite him already explaining the intricate factors relating to those issues. All she wanted to hear from him was a confirmatory soundbite so CNBC and other media outlets can jump on the "DALIO SAYS BUY GOLD" bandwagon. For fuck's sake Ray, go on a 2-3 hour podcast with someone like Eric Weinstein or Joe Rogan where you can delve deeply into your thoughts on economic (and life/work) principles. You're wasting your time speaking to moron "journalists" who haven't the slightest clue of (or care for) what you're talking about. How do you expect your thoughts to be dissected and understood when the interviews are laden with bullshit questions? If anyone from Bridgewater (or someone who interacts with Ray) reads this then tell him to get his fucking act together. Cheers.

@@SS-kg8rj Hahaha...yeah, what has the world come to when we think that one of the best HF managers should spend 2-3 hrs with Fear Factor Joe Rogan. (Joe is surprisingly smarter than I first give him credit for, but as you so diplomatically put it, he would be way out of his element.)
@keith3499
@keith3499 4 жыл бұрын
I'm using Rogan as an example... Jeez. Anyone with two or more braincells to rub together in a long-form discussion with Dalio would be better than this cheesy, CNBC crap. Weinstein would be interesting I believe. Or someone along those lines... someone that will challenge Dalio's thinking with deep, probing questions and give him more than a few minutes to develop an answer!

@keith3499
@keith3499 4 жыл бұрын
@@SPQRapidI have his books. One can still discuss the ideas of their books in long-form interviews. I doubt Dalio is doing interviews like this one for the good of his health. I would expect he wants to expose his ideas to the outside world, stress test them, and let others build on them (after all, he does aim for "radical truth and radical transparency"). My point is that his time would be better spent in long-form discussions rather than these type of conversations. Long-form would complement his writing.

Christine Tan had that blank look when Ray Dalio mentioned about the short term and long term debt cycles. She really ought to have done her homework in order to appreciate Mr. Dalio's pointers. A deeper probe into the mind of Dalio could have been achieved if she had done her homework just a bit better. Kudos to CNBC for sharing this interview.

Questions are VALID regardless of your assumptions of what is the “right”…. Not everyone understands the details/mechanics of economics and public channels should make these kinds of conversations available. She’s merely trying to understand his emotional state although he goes back to technical thoughts.
