The incident is being investigated as an attempted assassination of the former president and presumptive Republican nominee, according to law officials. There is no indication that Trump is going to the Trump Tower tonight. His campaign said he was ‘fine.’

Former US President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The assailant has been reportedly identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Crooks is said to have fired multiple shots from an elevated position on a manufacturing plant roof, over 130 yards from the stage where Trump was addressing supporters.
While Trump was speaking at the rally, a pop sound was heard after which the billionaire businessman clutched his ear. Two more shots were heard as he crouched down on the stage. It took two minutes from the moment of the first shot for Trump to be placed in a waiting SUV.
