Novelist Chimamanda Adichie says if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a misunderstanding.

The best public speaking i have hard since birth. Touches on critical issues but in a polite manner that no one is left feeling uneasy. I don't thing anyone can top this performance. Thank you Chimamanda

Great speech! The funny thing is, that I sought out her novel 'Half of a Yellow Sun' for this exact reason that she mentions: I was sick of seeing and hearing a single representation of Africa in the MSM and was thinking how little I actually knew about the continent and cultures. I also agree with what 'kropos' says below me...love the fact that Adichie can point out things like this (people being brainwashed) without being judgemental...she has a sense of humour about it which is rare

so she say her family wasn't poor but the sometimes could not afford food. sounds poor to me lol

That is how good you understand when people speak. Let me help you, she said her parents were not poor, but as time goes by things began to disappears from the breakfast table, like jam, margarine, then bread became too expensive. 12:30 onwards
