Dustin Diamond, who played the role of Screech on the popular 1990s high school comedy "Saved by the Bell," died Monday after a recent cancer diagnosis, according to Diamond's manager, Roger Paul.
He was 44.
Diamond first shared news of his cancer diagnosis last month.
At the time, his manager said his client's health was "serious" and that Diamond was undergoing further testing at a Florida hospital. He underwent his first round of chemotherapy days later.
An actor and stand-up comedian, Diamond found fame playing Samuel "Screech" Powers for more than a decade on the "Saved by the Bell" franchise.
The teen series was recently reimagined by the Peacock streaming service with some of the original stars, though not Diamond.
He stirred controversy with his 2009 book "Behind the Bell," in which Diamond shared backstage stories about shooting the series with some of his accounts being less than flattering to his costars.
He also faced some legal troubles, serving three months in jail for stabbing a man during a 2014 altercation at a bar in Wisconsin.
The actor has appeared in a number of reality shows over the years, including "Celebrity Fit Club," "Celebrity Boxing 2" and "Celebrity Championship Wrestling." In 2018, he appeared as his "Saved by the Bell" character in the Funny or Die series, "Zack Morris Is Trash."

But it IS the summary of his life. Hey look, it wasn’t all bad. He did some stand up comedy, he made a few bad choices, I mean it is what it is. You can feel free to hang on the good memories you had of him. I will always remember him fondly from his Saved By the Bell years as I’m sure most people will. I don’t think they threw him under the bus here at all.

The show originally was intended to revolve around Zack and Screech equally, and his character was not nearly as over the top originally, he was just a shy, normal little boy at first. Over time the writers and producers of the show completely flanderized the character making him zany and over the top, with a fake squeaky voice. It was hard for Dustin Diamond to have to portray that character, he basically had no chance at moving on to anything else. For a long time, the show in general was damaging to all of their careers.

@@petemercurio8638 Also, not when there's a political agenda to push. And right now, the agenda is white man bad.. Dustin Diamond was a "rich and famous" white male, thus, they must tear him down, like so many other institutions during the CNN endorsed BLM race riots for example.. However, for contrast, observe their coverage of Chadwick Boseman's similarly sudden cancer related death. Nothing but good things to say. A stark contrast indeed. I'd say CNN even goes beyond political bias at this point. It's bordering on racist propaganda.

Unfortunately for everyone, "resting in peace" is one of the greatest lies of the devil. I know nothing about Dustin's beliefs, so I'm not speaking about him, but we will either be with God for eternity, or we will not be resting in peace - we'll be answering for a lifetime of sinning and refusing God/ Jesus Christ's offer to forgive and forget, not through a religion, but through Jesus Christ. I implore people to re-read the gospels yet again and forget what anyone or any religion says - religions deceive as much as those who openly reject God - it's about a person not a religion: Jesus Christ. It's about eternity, not about this life here and then it's over as you "rest in peace". God offers peace here no matter your circumstances as you're now living for the truth of God and the eternal life He offers whosoever will. *_"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."_* John 3 : 16-19 *_"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."_* Ephesians 2 : 8-9 God offers eternal life as a free gift if we but humble ourselves before Him, admit our guilt and seek His righteousness, not our own.

Oh, y’all are so ridiculous . No one cares which higher power you lay a name on. It’s all between he and his. I agree this piece was disrespectful to both he and his family. You laying blame and calling each other’s belief systems as Good or Bad is the great facade. Everyone will claim to have a loving, benevolent and peaceful higher power; then have wars to kill one another to prove it. Let it be enough to send thoughts of peace and calm to his loved ones. Sheesh.
@ForumLight
@ForumLight 3 жыл бұрын
@@morethanmeetstheeye1355 Hello. If God exists then it does matter if we reject Him and follow after a false god or a false philosophy, and it would be cruel if people did not point it out. Everyone can claim what they want, but what matters is what God says, not what I or anyone else claims. Although it will not make anyone believe, these are things that prove God/ Jesus Christ is real, that the Bible is divinely inspired, and that we will be without excuse when we face Him to give account for our lifetime of breaking His laws *AND* refusing to be forgiven for it: The Bible is the only 'religious' book that dares to make prophecies, almost 2,000 that have come true after the fact of them being written down, even up to thousands of years later, proving its divine origin. Easily searchable. Although it is not a science textbook, there are dozens of facts about reality in the Bible that scientists didn't and couldn't figure out until hundreds and thousands of years later, also proving its divine origin. Easily searchable. All religious texts were written in one lifetime by one person - the Bible was written over 1,500 years through 40 people and reads as one mind. The grave of all false religions' prophets has their bones - the grave of Christ is empty - although they're desperately trying to find it to try discrediting Christianity. You can_kill thousands in the name of a false religion like islam, and people of that country will bend over backwards to help you build a church where you did it. You dare mention Christ, hand out a tract, and you're met with the utmost hatred. As Jesus said: John 15.18-19 *"[Jesus said]If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."* People who profess faith in Christ have major changes instantly from the inside out that they were unable to overcome over a lifetime. Even information and instructions are proof of an intelligence that created it. It's observable, repeatable, verifiable fact that information and instructions only comes from intelligence. DNA makes our most advanced computer programs look like a joke - instructions and information on how to build organic machines. let alone a mechanism that can decode these instructions and do what they say to actually build the organic machines with eyes to see, ears to hear, brains to think, hearts to pump blood, blood to be pumped, reproductive systems, immune systems, skeletal systems and so much more. It won't really make people believe who need to reject the truth of God, but we know all we need to know - but the world seeks to keep us blind to the truth of God. When we face Him, it won't work to say "well how was I supposed to know?" We know all we need to know and will be without excuse when we face God. Please think again - it doesn't matter what false claims the entire world makes up - when they face God it won't matter.

Brng- errors in dna replication absolutely do occur naturally. Cancer has been killing people for ten thousand years. It can be “natural” although it is also helped along by many recent products we consume no doubt

Damn. I’m sorry Dustin that things didn’t work out for you because of certain circumstances that you found your self in. You were a great and talented actor and you brought smiles to my generation across the world with just SBTB. Rest In Peace and the world won’t be the same without you!!

The only 'silver lining' to the recent death of Dustin Diamond is that he was afforded the opportunity to celebrate his forty-fourth birthday several weeks prior.
