The actor, who became a star for his iconic role of Screech in the hit ‘90s sitcom ‘Saved by the Bell,’ passed away just three weeks after announcing his stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis.

I think Dustin was going through some pain due to the past with that screech powers character. After a while, it looked silly to many and was subject yo harsh criticism. To think all those other co stars left him and Lark in the dark after the show ended was a betrayal. Dustin, God looked after you and is bringing reproach on those who betrayed you.

Being with both my parents as they died from cancer all I can say it's the worst death knowing you're gonna die...

Those where just co stars not his friends. He went through alot ,he was obviously only human an yes while they all went on to live there life he was struggling they never considered him now they want to pay tribute to him he's Dead now too late ...He seemingly looked like he was getting it together after all his troubles ,May he Sleep in Eternal Peace 🕊️

The guy had issues but it doesn’t seem like what he did warrants being shun out by his co-stars. Of course we don’t know how he was towards them as none of them really wanted anything to do with Dustin. Except maybe Mario who seems to not make it so personal later in life. In in a way, this is the Hollywood way. Characters seems to mesh on screen but they wouldn’t necessarily hang out in real life. It would’ve been nice to hear someone like Mark-Paul kept a closer relationship with Dustin after his stepped out of the limelight. Quite a sad outcome for what was one of my fav shows as a teen. DD was a key part on that show. You’ll be missed Mr. Diamond. RIP.

From some of the talks in the past, even when he was in the show, he was somewhat of an outcast, because he was the youngest and didn't have the "appeal" like Mark and Mario did. Not only that, he became a typecast for his role and so - that made it difficult for him to make a break like his co-stars did. It's pretty clear that they didn't care much about him; I think the mounted frustration eventually manifested him to "OK'ing" the book written about them. His behavior was a reaction to one thing and one thing only - rejection. Nonetheless, he was a great actor, I grew up watching him in the 90s and he will be dearly missed. RIP Dustin

life Lesson ======= you get a lump on your neck ,,, you get it checked as soon as you can... You don't wait over a year.. He probably would still be alive if he went right away after finding that lump...My sister had the same thing she had that removed thyroid and then a quick shot of chemo... She's alive going on 25 years.. shes now 55...

I can't believe he hadn't seen all the others from Saved by the Bell since he was 16. That's crazy. Most of the time when people are in a show together, they keep in touch one way or another. Even if they aren't around each that much cause they all have their own lives in different parts of the country, they still keep in touch and know what's going on each ones lives. Especially with social media. Nowadays you don't have to be around anyone to talk to them face to face anymore. It's really sad the distance that he had with the others in the show. R.I.P Screech. You will be missed.

I hadn’t heard of his diagnosis which is why I was saddened and shocked when I heard yesterday that he had passed away. Sure he had some issues in his life. But what child stars growing up don’t. I’m sure his co-stars from SBTB weren’t exactly perfect. Cancer took my sisters life at 48 yrs young and it sucks! RIP Dustin, you will always known to me as Screech ❤️

Wow. My mom was diagnosed with cancer in April 2017 and we lost her December of the same year. It was so terrible to see her suffer so much but I did cherish every moment I had left with her. I cannot imagine losing someone three weeks after they are diagnosed. How horrible. May he Rest In Peace.

Seem interesting to see all the tributes from his cast members. He betrayed them in his failed book. Shows how fake Hollywood is. Did they really like a person that stabbed them in the back? I think not. Saying nothing would have been most appropriate.

Yeah he didn’t do himself any favors by trying to cash on trash. But still, DD was screaming for help after the limelight went out but no one reached out. Not sure what really went on behind screen. Truly a sad outcome on what was one of my fav TV shows back then.

@Kevin Stone He stuck to that typecast role. Probably couldn't get another acting gig anywhere else so he continued that character onto other SBTB spinoffs. It's not easy growing up as a actor/actress. So no, we shouldn't judge as to what he became. Because he ultimately wanted to change his life around.. in some way. RIP Mr. Diamond.

My mom died that fast also ,From first being told.. Rest in peace... hope they find a cure for cancer . All I know is I was with my mom for the 3 weeks Till she took her last breath's ,As I watched her take her last breath .... let's just say it's not a pleasant way to go, You suffer the whole way through everybody around you suffers also... We can only hope we all go fast when we die... Finding the lump And taking care of it right away ,,, would've saved his life...By putting it off it spread everywhere... My mom wasnt so lucky She had a major car accident nine months before being told she had cancer , The car accident was near fatal and put a lot of stress on her body she had full body scans and she had no cancer... Then about nine months later she had back pain so we went in to get scanned and find out she has cancer all throughout her body.. Mainly her gut and A little area in her lungs.. Three weeks later she was dead... rip to eveyone that ever had to suffer through that kind of thing... my dad also died in the same way except I wasn't in the same room when he took his last breath...My mom on the other hand..I sense death was coming that night so I made it my mission to stay up with her... you could tell death was coming,,She was getting weaker,, still incoherent,,Because we kept giving her Oxy.. but you could tell by her skin that her liver and organs were shutting down.. They turn a purple color.. my life is forever changed I suffer from sadness and fear and Loneliness .. rip everyone
