This is definitely not a race thing. I grew up in St. Louis to a single mother and can verify this. My mother is a 24/7 guilt machine (permanent victim). And when I left home to join the Military she never forgave me. Her life fell apart, she lost her job, she lost her house, and she never recovered. To this day she is still a mess and still blames me for abandoning her.

What’s wrong with a rich athlete buying their mother a house? If they grew up poor and don’t want their loved one to continue to live in poverty they offer upward mobility. I think that is more of a cultural thing than indicative unhealthy mother-son relationship. Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan for example came from two parent homes and bought their parents homes.

I'm a son, raised by a single mother. I can tell you how true this is, and how destructive it is for the son. It literally destroys mens' lives. I would love to put it here, but there is so much, that I doubt anyone would read it. I should probably write a book about it. Thank god for this man (Greg Adams), and others like him. This is something that only boys and men know about.. they suffer in silence, and most of the time don't even know WHAT it is, that's destroying their life. They know something is "wrong" (it usually manifests in extreme anger and violence), but usually very confused as to WHY they are so angry. They usually don't understand WHY they get so mad. I mean, you're supposed to love (and "protect"?) your mom, right? Well, not if she's a toxic narcissist, who is very manipulative in nature. These single mothers very often use GUILT. Has your mother ever said, "you don't even love your own mother!" Or, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out, too!" Or, "I can't believe you came out of my body!" Mine has. She literally screamed those things at me, several times, before I was 9 yrs old. I developed a love / hate relationship with my mom. I couldn't stand to be around her, but I didn't have a choice. Where am I going to go? I'm a kid. At the same time, if any other kid said a WORD, bad, about my mom, we were fighting! I got in many fights, as a kid, just because someone said something about my mom. I thought it was my job to "protect" her... the exact opposite, of how its supposed to be (we're talking, like 7, 8, 9 yrs old kid.) I have been in and out of jail, juvenile detention centers, and psychiatric hospitals most of my life. I always had this nagging feeling, that my mom was somehow sabotaging my life, but I would feel guilty for even thinking that, so I would push it out of my thoughts. It wasn't until, about 40 yrs old, that I heard about "role reversal" or "parentification", and "narcissistic mothers". I knew that's what it was, but again, I felt guilty for even thinking it. I'm now, 100% positive, that my mom's manipulation of me, her GUILT trips, and the way she made me into her "emotional husband" (she would say, "don't you know how close I am to you?".. I always thought that was "weird"), was THE most destructive thing in my life. I'm now 42, and have finally cut off ALL contact with my mom. It was very hard, but I knew that it HAD to be done. I've gotten better. It doesn't happen overnight, but I am clearly doing much, much, better dealing with anger issues. It is a DEFINITE improvement! I'm starting to feel like a "normal person", now, and not a pissed off monster. My mom destroyed me, for most of my life. I may have 15-20 yrs left of my life, and I won't waste a second of it. To have contact with my mother, is extremely dangerous for my mental health. I'm seriously thinking about writing a book about it. My entire life, I was extremely pissed off, because my mom refused to be a mother.. and treated me as if, I was a "grown man", for her to rely on, and confide in (at 7, 8, 9yrs old). She literally flipped the roles on me... that's why they call it "role reversal". ALL boys NEED their biological father and their biological mother.. and BOTH have to be PARENTS, NOT FRIENDS!! Your parents should NOT rely on you, they should NOT confide in you. How can a kid rely on their parents, if the parents are trying to rely on the kid? Its not possible. My mom used to always say, "we have to help each other!" WRONG! That's not how it works. The parents have to raise the child, not the other way around! Even psychiatrists, are just starting to realize how destructive this can be... and men and boys are just starting to figure out what plagues them, and causes their extreme anger. Single motherhood is NOT NORMAL, and it NEVER will be!! Its destroying our society. My life has been filled with manipulation, GUILT, anger, violence, depression, extreme anxiety (social and generalized anxiety), and I have thought about suicide, since about the same time all of this started happening (about 7, 8, 9yrs old). Luckily, I'm an Army veteran, and can get care at the VA hospital. I now take several anti-depressants, and see a psychiatrist every few months. I'm doing better, but I can't have contact with my mother. Our relationship is toxic, it always has been, and it always will be. People like us should be studied by psychiatrists. They're going to see a LOT more of this in the future. BTW, feminists SUCK, and they absolutely destroy boys and men! The destruction of the "nuclear family", may very well be the beginning of the END for humanity. This meeds to be mainstream information, but for now, we are all (boys and men), trying to figure it out here, on youtube. That's because feminists hate to hear the truth.

Wow!!! Thank you for sharing! I'm currently trying to help my husband see how his relationship with his mother is extremely toxic, of course him and his family think I'm jealous or that I have family issues etc. His Mom is a narcissistic woman who sees him as a husband. No doubt about it. I don't say anything anymore because I'm tired of arguing with him, our relationship is on the rocks and sadly I know this is all because of his mother. So again thank you for your story and thank you for having the courage to even admit this has happened to you! Hats off to you for taking a stand to live your life and not feel like you owe her. She needs a husband to protect her etc, hopefully people talk about this more because it is destroying good men. Thank you

My church actually uses the phrase happy wife happy life to chuckles from everyone. They seem to cater to the progressive beliefs. I took a marital problem to our marriage pastor who heads our marriage help department. After explaining the situation he said that is completely wrong, but I’m not a marriage counselor and he turned his back and walked away. A week later I got a letter from the church questioning my faithfulness to the church because my giving is down. I decided to leave the church after that.

This ain't just a "black thing", this happens with a lot of other women as well. The Son becomes the "Man of the House". The Son becomes the mother's little Man, to order about and control. He takes orders on command and does whatever Momma tells him to do. If Momma has a Sister or two, they share that power over the Son. I can recall many experiences some of my friends have told me about their growing up with their Single Mom and her Sister(s). The sexual, physical and mental abuse these guys went through was gut wrenching.

Do your mother ask you for help for everything?
@theden-jimdill7037
@theden-jimdill7037 2 жыл бұрын
@@codingiscreativity No, not really. She asks for help very rarely. She lives in a very old house and it needs a lot of upkeep. Occasionally she will need something fixed, or to help her put in or take out the window air conditioner, but she doesn't like to bother anyone. She is very independent, and hates to ask anyone for anything. She's getting up there in years, and her memory is slipping. I'm somewhat traditional, I believe it is the children's duty to take care of their parents just as they took care of them.

"choir director with femimine energy" lol that describes *exactly* the youth choir director we had when i used to go to church (conservative protestant back then...i imagine these days they're all about blaq tranz lives etc). we assumed he was gay (closeted) but he turned out to have a wife so we figured he was a very "sensitive" hetero male

My ex wife 12 yeaes ago had a son who never saw his father, I saw how she treated him at the age of 16 and 17. She will talk to him, be submissive, let him talk like he was 40 and won't punish him. I told her the man of the house is the male who lays in your bed and pay the bills. He's not your husband, he's your son. She told me I was crazy and wrong for saying that. Single mothers are the worst.

Mine is too... his Mother is doing him dirty. My brother ( his Father) is incarcerated and I was doing my best to look out for him but everytime I pointed out the things his Mother is doing ( spending his income taxes, making him choose between school or get a low paying job to support her) he would get mad and go against me. He was living with me, going to school, got his license etc. Now after a fight between us he’s back living with her. At this point I’m done

@@khambrelmathis6101 pretty much same case, except he never lived with me. He got accepted to a big university but declined because he’d rather be close to his mom. He’s gonna be one of those kids that stays with mom til he’s 40. I’ve already warned my sister, but she’s pretty much trained him into a sonhusband. He’s bout to turn 18 and never had a girlfriend 😩

@@domirican81 that’s sad and I guess our situation is similar because my nephew is 17 too and it is disheartening because I can see him living with her until he gets older in age. If he would’ve been under me, I would’ve had him so independent thinking he would’ve been living on his own by at least 20 . Shit crazy cause this is real problem for people in our communities

This is rampant in the African-American community. See it in others too but not so much. There is a difference in respecting your mother and being a mature man/son. A son supports his mother/parents as they age but he does not become "partnered" with his parent as this is EMOTIONAL INCEST. It is creepy.

Real talk...that's exactly what his daddy wanted to see. Daddy wants mommy to know that she's an idiot. She's evil. She's faulty. She's toxic. She's wrong. In daddy's eyes mommy is the problem and daddy wants mommy to know that she is no good. Daddy hates mommy. Daddy wants mommy to know that he hates her and she is trash. There is no fixing her. That man made his son into a mama's boy on purpose. It is his intention toward that man, toward his own son. This is what his father made. That is what his father wants to see his son do. It's not mommy's fault. Mommy is reacting to the guilt she feels that daddy wasn't there, is not there. Mommy is trying to fill a void in her consciousness - she doesn't want baby boy to feel unloved or unwanted by women.
