This coach is a Made in China one manufactured in 2007 by CRRC Rolling stock company in China. Coach contains with an Disk Air Brake System and these coaches are the only Disk air brake coaches operating by Sri Lanka Railways. Now these coaches are 17 years old. One of that coach recently painted with beautiful and famous Blue Train Livery after full repairs done by Sri Lanka Railways. Some modifications and repairs also done in this coach.
This coach is a Third Class (3rd) Compartment. Seating capacity is enough for 96 passengers in this coach. Compartment is about 20 meters long and comes with a coil spring suspension system. Designed for operate upto 120 Km/h speed. Now these coaches only operating with this Chilaw - Panadura Muthu Kumari Office train.
