I follow a couple of van life channels. It’s fun seeing you two start your adventures with the Van. You know you’re gonna need some Halloween 🎃 decorations for it 😉. Glad your trip went well and that you are home safe!💚

Wow! That gas sounds pretty cheap! I think ours is about $5 a gallon here around San Francisco. Anyway, looked like a fun trip, and I'm glad you made it back safely.

We had a Coachman Class A motorhome, 8-9 miles per gallon diesel. Your brave doing it in the winter. We crisscrossed the country 3 times but in winter did the south and summer went north. It's a beautiful country out there, we enjoyed every minute of it. Unless you have a ton of money you tend to do your own maintenance on the big units but we just got to old to be doing it and sold the motorhome. I love what you bought and now you have us thinking 😁

We want the flexibility to drive into the cities and sites without being tied to a place to park the RV. There are lots of retired class b van life KZfaqrs.

You guys really wanted to test out that AWD. Nice video. We are in GA also. Many rest areas in GA have free dump stations.

Yes, we LOVE that! You can also stay overnight at the rest areas. Most of them anyway.

Ahhhhhh! Hi Mike! I know it's been quite awhile! But, I'm here now! And I've missed you! AND Tum too! I'm really happy to see you and Tum travelling on the road, taking a nice, long, lengthy trip! You guys looked like you had a very nice time! WITH the exception of the cold showers! Yikes!🥶 Too bad you couldn't have gotten a shower that distributed hot water! 😁 I loved that Tum was washing the van so diligently after you guys got home. And I laughed SO hard when you asked him at the end of the video if he had any further thoughts. And he simply and quickly said, "No".😂 I also loved him in his rain jacket with his hood up! He looked like a kid walking to school!😄 Wished you could have had at least another 3 inches of leg room in your seat!🦵 Hope you're both doing great! Sending all of my love and best wishes to you two awesome, handsome, intelligent men! 🤗🥰😸❤🍀

I live in Bloomington! My daughter lives near Springfield. Small world. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I’m looking to get a class B and was wondering how it would do in colder weather.

We drove it this past christmas when the weather was in the negative degrees. The pipes did get a bit frozen, but thawed out ok.

The shower couldn’t overcome the cold weather? Are you referring to the heating in the bathroom or hot water?

I have a few questions if you don’t mind. The first 1 being the most important if you have only a moment. 1: How are the twin beds as couches? Can you sit upright without your head hitting the cabinets? Do your feet dangle? 2: Have you ever missed not having rear seatbelts? 3: Any issues with the rear bath door and other sliding screens, like by the sliding door. 4: Have all the safety features actually helped or been more problematic? Like lane keep assist, pre collision warning and auto emergency breaking. 5: have you ever wished it was bit shorter? Thought, with one of you 6’3”, the Transit is one of the few options and the shorter version is rare. I’m 6’2” 6: Cabin noise seemed good in videos. Any rattles or other issues over the years? 7: Did MPG ever improve in different climates or trips? 8: Lithium system reliable?

1) (I’m going to make several comments because it’s hard to type on the phone and see the questions). We made several modifications to the van. We added storage boxes under the beds - higher on the driver side - and changed the mattresses. Before and after, I had no issue sitting on them as couches. We still do - mostly on the passenger side where we eat and watch tv. Tum has a small stool so he can have his feet flat. Mine are fine.

2) yes. The new model has them though. We still lay down sometimes while driving but it’s dangerous.

4) we are used to self driving teslas. The lane keep is slightly handy. I wish it did better. But no problems.

5) the van size is fine. Tum would like a shorter one but we take it everywhere. It fits in parking spaces decently. I used to sleep on the longer side and I’d wake up a lot because I just barely fit. We ended up taking out the microwave cabinet and rebuilding it smaller so I could have a longer bed on that side. It’s much better now.

It’s only about $4.20 here. We just a few weeks ago took a 4000 mile trip to Utah and back and don’t think we paid over $5 at all.
