Drop volleys are very tough. Not something I usually recommend to people.

By the sound of those volleys, it seems like you were using at least a weak eastern or eastern grip. Love the solid contact and control. Great teaching style. 👌

Yes. Eastern base knuckle and heelpad between continental and eastern.

While playing the high volley near the net, do we need to keep in mind that our racquet swing does not cross the net? Is it considered as a fault?

The follow through can go past the net. We just can’t contact the ball before it comes to our side. Thanks!!

What is the depth you’re aiming for on the low volley? Is a drop shot volley not recommended?

Landing far past service line. Drop volleys are very difficult and result in losing more points than we win when attempted.

So what about for doubles, if you are at net you want to hit to the feet of the opposing net player, but a low volley could set them up, so you go down the line just like in singles?

No. In doubles you don’t think “down the line or cross court”. You think “who’s farther from me?” In doubles, high balls should be hit toward the bet player, low balls toward the baseliner. Thanks!!

I don't think that kind of flat volley can not handle a fast top spin stroke and almost not possible the ball coming to your feet in the net. Volley needs some slice swing to have better control . I liked your instruction for the other technique but i don't agree about this.

I vary the type of volley technique I use based on how much spin is on the ball. If there’s a ton of spin then I’ll add a little for control (just like you said). Thanks!!
