Come join me on a wildlife quest to spot Britain’s largest bird of prey - the elusive White-tailed Sea Eagle - recently sighted near the Swale Nature Reserve! News spread quickly in the birding world of this iconic raptor and I'm on a mission to find it.
Sure enough, the Swale doesn’t disappoint- but it’s something else that catches my eye…

Fabulous place and fabulous video! Thoroughly enjoyed it, learned a lot, and loved the stoat pic popping up to tell us what was in the grass! The bird illustrations you also pop up are helpful for ID too. Great idea.

What were the 2 birds at about 11mins, were they hen harriers again or buzzards, would be useful for novices like me to have you put it on the video somehow

I am a liitle confused, because I see so many hen harriers from british youtubers. In northern germany the hen harrier is very common in wintertime. Is it really one of rarest birds of prey in Britain? The footage is really cool. The peregrine falcon was so cool as well. Greets Stefan

They are SO rare here ! They were hunted basically to extinction but they’ve bounced back slightly. Most of them are still up in Scotland; Orkney & Shetland but down south it’s pretty much the rarest bird of prey (other than Montague’s Harriet) cheers!

@@ChrisGoesWild Do you talk about breeding population or winter guests? In germany they do not breed. They only stay for winter. In winter time they are very common here. I thought it is similar to britain

Ours stay here, although in winter they move south to follow the food. Unfortunately we don’t get any consistent visitors :(

@@stefangoldensteinwildlife9929 You probably get a lot of Russian and Scandi birds overwintering.

Harriers and bitterns are so rare these days because people don't think coastal marshlands are worth conserving

Exactly. Then once ruined, there's more flooding and they blame 'climate change'. Any land like this, and basically scrub land, is all being build on
