I just got a Cobalt Q6 slope based on your review and love it!. Initial impressions - The speed, accuracy, stability, premium feel, optics, & style is simply fantastic!. The first time I used it, I had the case attached to my carry bag. Upon returning home, I noticed that the case was tearing a bit as it was likely caught up between things. Called Cobalt, spoke with Alan, and they shipped a replacement out asap. Its not just the product but the customer service that rocks. I think the case could be a bit more rugged and they said they are looking into it. Don't miss the magnet or the zipper at all. If anything, the toggle mechanism makes for really quick access. The outer packaging was super eco friendly and minimalist which I liked.

Do you use a cart or walk when you play? The only reason why I am asking is because I have the Q6 Slope and was wondering how to attach it to the golf cart so it's easy to use.

The magnet on range finders are a recipe for leaving it in the cart and never seeing it again

Thanks for the great reviews on range finders. I just ordered a Cobalt Q6 Slope after watching your review on it. One thing to note is your description of accuracy. A better term may be repeatability. As an example, my home weight scale is very repeatable if I step off then step back in within 30 seconds. If I wait a couple of minutes, then my weight reading changes by a few tenths of a pound. I think there’s a software timer in the scale that makes it work this way. My guess is the Cobalt Q6 might be doing the same thing. I’ll test it out when I get it. Thanks for your help in picking the right range finder for me. Bob

Thanks for your review on yours and everyones comments below. I just purchased the Cobalt Q6 Slop and it's out for delivery. I am just wondering is the battery an issue having to find and replace the battery versus a rechargeable battery?

Great review! Worth mentioning. This is sort of the brain child from the guys that supply the lasers to bushnell, and the crystal guys for some really high end optics companies. Also, regarding not having both slope and non slope numbers, I noticed you can just flip the switch but don't have to reshoot the flag to see the alternate number

So…..actually decided to get the Cobalt to see if it would replace from my Leupold, which is pretty awesome. I really like it! I really like the 7x magnification and I like that it has slope, but doesn’t put both numbers in the view finder at the same time. My Leupold does that, and it’s had to remember which number is the slope and which is the actual. Really like it. As I thought though, my only drawback is the huge knob on the left side doesn’t make it user friendly for lefties like me who hold the range finder in my left hand. Not a deal breaker. I’ll probably keep it, but wish that knob wasn’t so big, or on top maybe…

So I have a Bushnell range Finder for outdoor/hunting/general purpose use. Do you see any huge benefit to having a golf specific finder?

Could you review the voice caddie SL2? There are no good reviews on KZfaq that I trust and yours are the best I’ve seen!

I had the SL2 for a year. Nice range finder but it got wet during a rainy round and now it won’t hold a charge. Called customer service and emailed them and they will not respond. It was cool while it worked but I’ll also add that the yardage never matched my buddies using bushnell. I was always off 3-4 yards. Bottom line, I’d pick something else besides the SL2.

Hi I love your reviews totally straight and clear. However it doesn’t help me with my problem. I’m a senior and keen golfer running distances here in the UK from an Apple Watch vis Golfshot. I’m also a high Hcapper who’s realising that the short game is everything so I want to know my distances better then the watch is telling me. Money is an issue to so I could afford a £100.00 or at a push £200. BUT will I live to regret not getting A V5 shift or Cobalt. Difficult choice do I currently need a range finder YES when I’m practicing pin locations but not really on the course. Any thoughts where I should pitch my purchase price?

Honestly, I wouldnt necessarily go for anything in the 100 range. I've yet to find a product I could truly recommend that's in that range. However at closer to 200, I'd consider the TecTecTec KLYR which really surprised me with how well it performed for the price (around 160 pounds). Possibly also the Leupold Pinseeker 3 in that price range.

For the jolt do flags need to have reflective eyes?

No, it helps, but it can still lock on well on flags without them.

Great review…my biggest bogey is I’m left handed, so I tend to shoot the flag holding my range finder with my left hand. Looks like that huge knob gets in the way of that, no?
