21:23 this season is really good. There was real drama, stakes, and real character growth for a lot of characters. I liked last season but this season is better written imo.

You got to be kidding me.. This entire show was a copy of 1 youtube video called "The Karate Kid: Daniel is the REAL Bully" by J. Matthew Turner.. And it seems like the writter ran out of ideas to steal and it became SO GOOFY.. The fighting choreography is worse than randoms on youtube with a cell phone, the "writting" is extremely predictable.. That part with Miguel's dad was so DUMB and unnecessary.. I cant.. I can only watch this as a comedy

I'm old, so, back In the day, I couldn't have fathomed watching a reformed Chozen 20 years later, working with Daniel to train kids. The nostalgia that this season brings out, especially with Barnes added to the mix, for us old people is unmatched by anything.

I believe the johnny flashback scene we saw previously was set in 1979 a year before this episode's flashback. The sensai's grandaughter did ask where John Kreese was after she disembarked the plane in episode 6.

The Asian guy was a former Cobra Kai student and now an Eagle Fang student for several seasons. You probably don’t remember him when he joined Eagle Fang in the park. I can’t wait until the crew will yell “who is this kid? do we know him?” in the last episode especially when they see Red, a Cobra Kai student, and Carrot/Little Red, a Miyagi Do student.

34:48 So THAT kid is Dirk, one of the Eagle Fang students. Hes been in the show for awhile, but yeah, they went back and forth between having the whole class in that scene and then just the major students. Its weird.

The flashback to Korea was 1980 so Johnny would've been like 13 at that time since Johnny gave Miguel his gi from the first tournament he trained for in 1981 in season 1.

The timeline calls for more deversity in the physical appearance of Kreese and Silver but they are limited. We first see Kreese in the 1965 diner flashback and Silver in vietnam in 1968. Then we see them in season 4 in the mid to late 70s and again in season 5 in 1980 Korea, yet they haven't aged a bit. Not to mention, the 1980 scene is only 4 and 5 years before the events of the first KK movie and 1985 KK3 and there is a huge physical, vocal and demeanor change in both characters that you just can't duplicate with different actors. Maybe they should have done whatever they did with Johnny in the Kreese counsiling session? That kid was almost spot on

I disagree with eric, for once. digital de-aging is an impressive technology, but I kinda find the recent over-reliance on to be a detriment. it has the wow factor for sure, but I'd prefer seeing an unencumbered performance. a full scene with de-aged kreese and silver wouldn't be worth it imo. heck, this show I feel is a great example of the benefits of just recasting for characters in different ages. young kreese is fantastic, that actor really brings a different side of the character.

Young kreese in flashback was in 1980 so four years after was when the karate kid part 1 started meaning he must have had a lot of stress to look ten years older. However, for the story sake, it doesn't matter too much but its fun to think about

Johnny trained for his first tournament in 1981, which would have been the year after the scene. But I agree, seeing a de-aged Kreese and Terry would have been cool.

Chozen is such a badass ninja/samurai sensei but also has the wisdom of Miyagi. I hope Chozen stays in the series till the series finale. "Sekai Taikai" will always make me think of "Tenkaichi Budokai", the World Martial Arts Tournament from DragonBall & DBZ. A Sekai Taikai as the focal point of season 6 will be so awesome!!

I always prefer to see a younger actor for flashbacks so I can just focus on the actors performance rather than be concerned about the CGI. even in book of boba fett I felt luke looked a little odd and sounded way off, plus the action can be way better with a younger actor, like just look at sam jackson in captain marvel.

The flashback is 1980, so four years before he meets Daniel and Mr.Miyagi and five before h goes to see Silver. I think Kreese is supposed to be around 38 in the Karate Kid movie, so in this flashback, he should be 33. Silver is younger and his age is undetermined, but I always figured he was around 19 or 20 in Vietnam so he’d be in his late 20’s in the flashback. 🤷🏼♀️

@@ugoddessthepoet in the flashback of him in S1 he was 12 in 1979, so when Kreese and Silver were in Korea, Johnny would have been 13. Which, in another flashback shows Kreese talking to a crying young Johnny… which means Kreese’s voice changed quite quickly according to this flashback 😂😂 I assume that flashback took place shortly after Kreese got back from Korea… I’m gonna stop thinking about it, it makes no sense at all lol but I’m just gonna enjoy the show without pointing out the flaws and inconsistencies 😂

I just truly do not understand how Kyler sees himself as the best even though like every time he fights someone, he gets his ass kicked. He can like hold his own now, sure and confidence and arrogance is a thing, but he still loses like 90% of the time. I feel like I’d change my view on myself by now.

The training exercises for Cobra Kai make no sense. Wish the martial arts aspects were more realistic, being its a show about Karate. No real lessons, just constant fighting. My school would kick you out for fighting outside the dojo. Daniel is not likeable, and Kenny has been a bully long enough.

He teaches an aggressive style and does not teach restraint, which causes the kids to be too aggressive. The entire arc of the show was to show that cobra kais philosophy is wrong, even in a well meaning persons hands. So what show are you watching?

And no, Kreese sent the kids to attack Daniel and Miyagi's students in the season 3 finale. Forget that, did we? Daniel literally says, "You sent them to my house? You came after my daughter?". Kreese, knowing the consequences of his actions, knowing it was illegal and wrong, tried to slice a man's throat. "It's time for you and Miyagi to reunite". I dont know how you can feel bad for him seeing as he has shown zero remorse for anything he has ever done to Daniel. Their very first meeting in cobra kai, he mocked Miyagi's death. Feeling soooo bad for him because he has a bit of regret for he treated Johnny is laughable.
