When I first heard about this and watched the trailers, I honestly wasn't sure. I thought this was just nickel and dime attempt. This wasn't even on my radar and I loved the original Karate Kid series. After watching the two, I said to myself I'll give this a shot but I wasn't expecting anything. Man, did this show over exceed my expectations. This was beyond beautiful and showed class and dignity to the franchise. I felt I was watching a extension of the originals. I cried seeing Daniel visit Miyagi's grave and when Daniel wore the karate outfit again. With all the odds against this and most likely to fail, it basically became one of the most successful shows on KZfaq red. To think, the limited budget, they got it right while The Last Jedi with a unlimited budget screwed up the franchise. Goes to show you, if you have the right people that care about the franchise and what it truly stands for, it will succeed unlike idiots like Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson that ruin it.

@Holden Mcgroine she was afraid of what her father would think about her dating a cobra. But I think if she let Miguel explain his backstory I think the two could sympathize with one another pretty well.

Because she went on ONE dare with the guy. ONE. Maybe she should pick a guy that isn't soooo insecure about things without knowing the FACTS. Girls aren't property. Neither are guys. It could've been her cousin. Get a reason before you jump into insecure-mode it isn't an attractive look.

And rock up to the party holding hands with the other guy. Yeah, being a female and understanding body language well she should have fully realised he would be jealous and pissed. But girls often act surprised in these situations, I think they secretly love having guys fight over them. Lifts their status as an attractive female and is actually more important than a relationship to some of them.

The others each have some annoying things about them. Daniel jumped to conclusions way too much with Johnny and got too hyped up on revenge, and doing things like going out of his way trying to get rent spiked up just to get Johnny to lose his business. Sam totally started her rivalry with Tory with the unnessesarily bitchy uppity way she acted to her about the vodka bottle and accusing her of taking her mom's wallet without proof. It'll happen again season 3. I've got some theories here. I think that they'll become friends early season when they both start running Miyagi-do together. But then, Daniel will leave his students for just Johnny to teach for a while when Amanda finds out that he broke his promise about no more karate. She'll temporarily throw him out of the house, and between that and not being able to go to Miyagi-do now, this will be where Daniel goes to Okinawa. While in Okinawa, Daniel will meet with Chozen again. And he'll see Kumiko and see that she's also now married with kids. Whether Chozen has redeemed himself now from his younger days, I can't even guess that one really. When Daniel returns from Okinawa, he'll find out that Johnny did some things to mess up his students and his dojo, and the two of them will brawl again and fall apart again. But, he'll be forgiven by Amanda because she missed him while he was gone, and she'll allow him to teach karate again, and that's when he'll find out Johnny messed things up. Oh, and Miguel will slowly recover and he will now join Miyagi-do since that's where Johnny is now. Robby won't be around because he's now in juvenile hall for what he did to Miguel. Tory is now in juvenile hall too for what she did pushing a teacher to the ground, making a threat over the intercom, and starting that big school fight

LOVE IT! ...43 year old male who remembers both watching the original films and also lived through Gun's and Roses ruling the world. I am just the right age to really get all the dynamics at play in this story even the stark portrayal of the difference between young people and culture back then and the whole new world our young kids and teens live in today. If you don't remeber a time before the internet and haven't lived through it's crazy arrival only to be so unexpectedly foolowed by the invention of the smartphone you wouldn't really appreciate the brilliant writing done here in this series.
