I honestly didn't expect to fall in love with this series as much as I did. It immediately pulled me back to when I was a kid and saw Karate Kid but, that nostalgia was just the "in." The script and story are just amazing and kept me hooked. Keep it up!

This is the best sequel that I have ever seen of and old franchise, respecting the old characters which are still important and relevant to the story, while the new generation is also great and well developed. In contrast Disney's Star Wars (TFA & specially TLJ) were all the opposite, an insult with the old characters which now are totally irrelevant to the story and a forced development of the new characters (a Jedi without any training). I can't wait to watch season two of Cobra Kai!

I totally agree. They made the bad guy from the original more complex to the point where we see he's not such a bad guy after all. That's called character development, something that is sorely missed in Disney's Star Wars.

@@NomadAngie Can't blame you. Daniel turned into an inattentive jerk. While Johnny's truly beginning to realize how messed up he was. They both have their problems, but I think by the end, BOTH will be pretty well adjusted men.

I think this show surpassed everyone's expectations. A good balance of nostalgia with new storytelling. It even had heartfelt drama and some cheese. I believe Season 2 will be even better. I wanna see more of Daniel Larusso's classic yellow convertible, Cobra Kai vs Miyagi-Do school fights, some surprising cameos from the OG Karate Kid movies, and more complexity for Johnny and his father figure Kreese!

There's nothing complex about Kreese, that jerk is straight-up evil period!!! Under Kreese's menacing influence & with the possible return of both the manipulative Silver & the sadistic Barnes, Johnny's students like Miguel & Hawk are going to undoubtedly become even more ruthless in S#2 than they were in S#1 possibly forcing an already guilt-ridden Johnny to consider joining forces with Daniel & his own protégés in order to end Cobra-Kai for good!!!

@@DragonHeart613 I think they will show some of Kreese's backstory which will include some Vietnam war references. What this show has done successfully is make these characters more grey and complex. Instead of just black and white.

easily amongst the best written sequels i've ever watched! i watched the original karate kid film with my 2 sons (13 & 11), then watched cobra kai with them.

Not only did myagi save danny's life on the Halloween evening beating last running kick - myagi also saved dutch and johnny from a lengthy prison so basically johnny became the new mister myagi so johnny temporarily saved Miguel from those bullies outside the convenience store Plus johnny saved Miguels life after that vicious Halloween evening beating

The dude who plays Robby looks like a teen from the 80s or 90s. Probably the 90s. He looks like one of those typical bad boys with that hairstyle. I don't see a lot of people rocking that hairstyle. Anyways, I'm not hating on him. He seems cool and a good kid.

White Emerald_ He looks like Cory Haims or Zack from Saved By The Bell. A lot of teenage actors in the 90’s looked the same just as what is happening now in this generation. I guess it was a fashion trend to good to ignore. Everyone loves to copy one another of some sort.

The new Karate Kid is amazing, because they take all the nostalgia of the original story of the loser and the bullies, inspirational self improvement and learning, etc. But they take it to a new level, more adult, with complex characters that are not just black or white, but have their shades of gray, and that makes them more human. And at the same time it is still cheesy and eighties, and everything that made me love the first movie when I was the same age as Daniel.

Nobody cares about the nostalgia. It's only a background element for the Daniel/Johnny rivalry. The show is good because it shows real kids. And not the SJW teens. It's like if that's 70 show ran with the disco teens rather than the stoner kids.

Cobra Kai,succeded on everything,the new Star Wars movies,failed miserably. They continued the story,in an interesting way,gave the old characters like Daniel and specially Johnny,some great nuances and they introduced,compelling new characters.The kids in the show,are multidimensional characters with both flaws and likeable traits.Every character in Cobra Kai,feels like a real person.

Steve Peters ... Johnny is awesome!! I love how they’ve developed his story and character. He’s a good guy after all. Not perfect, a little rough around the edges but wow... what a relatable character, flaws and all! He’s funny too🙂! I love watching him evolve!!

This show beautifully captured the original karate kid with flashbacks and scenes from the original movie. These creators did an excellent job. This show is incredible.

Its about time, Yay! I remember when the original Karate Kid came out on the big screen. I was a typical teenager. Silver parachute pants, the goofy shirts. Big stupid hair. The 80's was a cool time to grow up! Now I get to kind of re-live it with this mini-series. I binged watched the first season. Looking forward to season two!

I honestly was never a fan of the karate kid series and I started to watch this series just to pass time. I never expected to fall in love with the series so much so that I’ve been waiting for a season 2 since last year.

This show is absolutely fantastic! I LOVE everything about it. The acting by EVERYONE is extremely phenomenal. The script the story line the camera work the music the directing everything. This show deserves every award possible. Emmy Grammy Golden Globe Oscar whatever all of em! Lol. I can't wait for the next seasons!

Most of the people who defend johnny and his cobra kai karate posse in the karate kid film were bullies or wanted to be bullies. Sure enough johnny is on his way to redemption and if he apologizes to danny for all those previous vicious beatings and serious indictable offences such as trying to take danny's life on 3 separate occasions then - yes though, in the original karate kid film - the cobra kai karate gang were the bullies - with the exception of bobby

@MonkeyZorr I like how the Miyagi dojo is so peaceful, the wooden dojo itself, with the pond, gardens, etc. outside. The Cobra Kai dojo is, of course much more like your typical dojo in the city, plus the Cobra Kai black, red and yellow colors (plus white of course). No sissy bonsai trees... :-/

This show is so excellent! I've been a fan of all of the entries in the series (even The Next Karate Kid, which a lot of people give grief to) and Cobra Kai is honestly my favorite Karate Kid media since Karate Kid 2. I actually would say that Cobra Kai equals the original in terms of heart, depth, and those endearing qualities that make it resonate as true to the spirit of the brand. Can't WAIT for Season 2!!!

Cobra Kai is a sequel that truly does the original movie justice. Great on every level. After seeing how well this was done, I now really feel like all the Star Wars movies after ROTJ really did NOT compare to the original franchise at All and could have been SOOO much better. I really feel like Disney should be paying attention, because audiences are too sophisticated and savvy to put up with the crap that they package as “Star Wars” these days. My generation sat in a movie theater with the original 3 SW movies and the original Karate kid and we KNOW what’s great and what works. Cobra Kai didn’t pander to us and only use our memories of what was once great about the original to get us to watch. It had its own value and ADDED to our love of the original, and then got us HOOKED. Great job. Very well done. All us 80s kids out there APPROVE!! The new Star Wars franchise better clean up its act...there’s a new “karate” KID in town!

For Season 2... We're planning a Saturday binge from morning to night breakfast bbq, a lunch bbq, & a dinner bbq marathon. My friends agreed that it's gonna take place at my dojo (home) & we're gonna document the whole experience. My friends & I are SUPER excited for Season 2. Oh yeah, did I mentioned that we're in our late 30's? Keep up the AMAZING work, Corba Kai cast & crew.

I love it if there was a Prequel film about a young Mr Miyagi leaving Okinawa for America and fighting in Europe during the war when his wife and unborn son died.

They've done a fantastic job with this series so far. Honestly, I didn't go into it with high expectations. Great cast, great writers, they've really nailed it. 👍🏻

Honestly, I'm just on par for more Miguel and Johnny development. Miyagi-Do had the whole series for focus. Let's see some more Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai Never Dies!

Cobra kai is a great series and a nice tribute. Tanner Buchanan looks a lot like Jonathan Brandis (Sidekicks)
