Daniel yelling at Anthony is one of my favorite scenes because it's probably the most major change in Daniel's character development. He has created this nice friendly dad image for his children. There is discipline but in a very calm way but his own son turning out to be a bully and just overall a disrespectful prick finally makes him cross that line and actually show the more aggressive side of his personality.

And every time Daniel has tried to connect to Anthony in a calm manner so far hasn't worked out, Anthony would ignore him or just refuse or pretend to agree and do his own thing. Daniel has tried to find ways to connect with him and to understand him. But calm and rational doesn't work with some kids. Some need strong discipline.

I think Anthony was being sincere and I suspect there was a part of him that appreciated being disciplined by Daniel. I could be wrong, but I really think Anthony got a wake-up call.

Daniel channeling Eagle Fang to discipline Anthony is such a great moment. I feel like that was the only satisfying way the Anthony subplot could, well not end, but escalate, especially because it shows what an effect Johnny had on Daniel.

The great writing of these characters really makes the emotional moments hit. I thought this was just going to be a comedy show after the first couple episodes, and when it got serious I was concerned if the writing could hold up with dramatic moments and it totally does. Great show, and love revisiting on with these watchings.

Yeah, what you are seeing is Silver get tired of Kreese. Silver has tried to maintain some sense of calm and not go psycho. But Kreese will not let him, Kreese has been pushing for the 'old' Silver, but his soft spot, Johnny, is putting out mixed messages. His telling him "no mercy, lets end them", but then show Johnny mercy. Once a guy like Silver is unleashed, you can't stop him, it's all the way or no way. That's why the guy was just at home chillin', now this.

Terry came back with good intentions. He put all the crap behind him and wanted to treat Cobra Kai like it was originally meant to be, focusing on kids turning their fears into something positive. Is it a more aggressive style than Miyagi-do? Or course but it wasn't meant to be what Kreese eventually turned it into. But Kreese just couldn't have that and drove the man to relapse. Yes, there is his PTSD from Vietnam but one small line always stuck out to me and that was during the tattoo flashback. Terry speaks about his father wanting to him put it all behind him and come take over the business. I think another aspect of Terry's fragile state is the pressure he received growing up under his father. It wasn't a long scene but I'd say that also contributed to his trauma.

This, exactly! You can see Kreese intentionally pushing Terry's buttons to get him to "fall in line" regardless of how bad an effect it has on Terry and it's just awful. I don't understand how people think Terry is now the big villain and Kreese will miraculously be redeemed when Kreese just constantly proves he's way more vile and sociopathic than Silver.

People in the comments were saying that Terry Silver’s apology to Daniel wasn’t real??? It was most definitely real. As was his good advice to the students. This whole thing was not something that Silver wanted to be a part of, but he was dragged back into it. It was Daniel’s rejection of the apology…and, more importantly, Kreese’s superiority complex and bullying/threatening/“you owe me your life” attitude that causes Silver to just feel trapped.

I fully agree with you. Even at his worst you can sense that he is a deeply conflicted man. He knows he has demons, but he hasn't been realistic with himself about having fully mastered them.

No, it was not. If he really meant it, he would have done it earlier and alone. But instead he brought Kreese along with him and his tone and mimic didn't seem he was sincere. He just was there to play with him. You really blame Daniel's rejection of the apology for Silver turning into a psycho? C'mon.

I love Robby and Tory together. They both have bad home situations and have common ground. They went from going to just stick it to Sam and Miguel to having a good time while Sam and Miguel ended up the opposite. Loved Daniel unleashing his inner Johnny on Anthony. That was a heartbreaker when drunk Johnny told Miguel I love you Robby. That broke Miguel mentally. It was very brutal when Terry beat the crap out of Stingray. The old Terry is back and everyone is going to pay for it.

I think Terry was being more level-headed to start the season. But in episode 8, he flipped the switch because of the pressure he’s getting from Kreese. He just woke the beast.

Yeah, Samantha said there were comments stating the apology from Terry to Daniel was all just a ruse & of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I didn't see it as that at all, I felt it pretty sincere in that moment. It was all part of Silver's great Season Four arc which began with his reluctance to re-team with Kreese, to his doing so but wanting to do things right this time around, to his gradual return to the darkside.

I think a lot of people miss some of the cross over when Daniel found Miayagi drunk and helped him to bed. Same with Miguel finding his Sensei drunk on the floor. But where Daniel bows and shows respect to his master, Miguel gets hurt to the core. Just an interesting contrast I think some people missed.

I think Terry came back with overall positive intentions, it was Kreese confronting him, treating him inferior, and preying on his PTSD that caused a dark turn, and remember, Terry had reached a positive state of mind and left the lunacy in the past. Terry really valued his relationship with Kreese, and then he got used and walked all over. I still feel bad for him, he was just thinking about his and Kreese's dream when they started the dojo.

it's a sad scene outside looking in and in Miguel's perspective, but when you switch to Johnny's perspective, then it changes that whole scene. Johnny spend the entirety of episode 8 to come for Silver, which stems from Johnny wanting to have a better relationship with Robbie or atleast look out for him. What Johnny said / confessed was during a inconvenient time. Johnny was drunk, beat up, and tired after he spend his day on "being there" for Robbie and he might have thought that Robbie was the one helping him afterwards and therefore could confess that he wants to be his dad, but i happens to be to the wrong person.

It refreshing to know you guys don't see spoilers and have a fresh take that reminds us all how it was when we first watched it. The Meta thing in 7 was Ralph Macchio daughter schooling her own Dad's parenting. There is a few YT videos of him explaining how Meta he felt in acting those scenes with her. She is definitely a pro actor and you never would guess she was hired in the role because she is Ralphs daughter.

My favorite Miguel scene was the moment he flipped on the innocent season one Miggy when he says “like you being my sensai” to Johnny about not wanting some things to change. His best delivered and authentic sounding line he delivered.

The mind games between Kreese & Silver are absolutely nuts. I love watching two proper villains go at each other. Don't forget, Silver is an addict and has overcome a huge substance abuse problem. Silver's throwaway line about "doing so much cocaine" to explain his absolutely bonkers performance in Karate Kid III makes a pretty strong connection between addiction and the Terry Silver we remember. It surprises us that Silver "wins" over Kreese when it comes to betting on their students. But It's Kreese who volunteers the bet, and the innocuous reward of "brewskis to the winner." He gets Silver drinking again: in spite of that killer wine cellar, we don't see him touch alcohol himself until this episode, and it's amazing how fast he starts to change once he falls off that wagon. In a way, Kreese lost their contest-or did he get exactly what he wanted? Seems like he's set up the beginning of Terry Silver's fall back into his old ways. Stay tuned to see if that's a victory for Kreese or not.

I'd suggest that they watch & react to The Shield. I don't see anyone reacting to that. Talk about a show that will be leaving them reeling with its plethora of "Oh Shit, what's gonna happen next!?" moments. Amazing cliffhangers and season finales, not to mention that the series finale is widely considered one of the best in television history. I can see TBR and Samantha absolutely falling in love with Dutch and Claudette and their intense careers as homicide detectives. Seven seasons, 12 or 13 episodes per season. I think they can get it done in about 6 or 7 months. And I know them and their viewers will LOVE IT. The Shield! That should be next.

Greetings from Australia (re the Prom scene). It's not some far away place on the other side of the world. Ok, so it is.. but still.. I'm a regular viewer of your channel. In fact.. the whole reason I watched this series in 4 days was because I saw your reactions to the original Karate Kid movies.. and then your reaction to the pilot and after that.. I had to watch all of them. It's been a fun ride. Especially watching every week, seeing you catch up 2 episodes at a time. Almost caught up now.. but there's a new series soon. If it wasn't for your channel, I wouldn't even know that Cobra Kai existed. Hi TBR &Samantha ..... I agree.... these two episodes were tough. I enjoyed the martial arts and some of the dancing in these episodes a lot . Your reactions here for many of the situations i.e. with Kenny and Anthony , Sam and Tory , and Johnny vs Terry are some of my favorite reactions for Cobra Kai . The situation with Johnny , Carmen , and Miguel I felt it was the awkward and light hearted part as well as the Family photo time.... to see you both enjoying those scenes was great . It still crushes my soul a little when I see Miguel help up a very drunk Johnny and they are talking and Miguel is helping Johnny.... then the mix up in names destroys Miguel's smile.... that is a really hard scene . I also found the scene between Kreese and Terry difficult... I am not a Terry Silver fan but he absolutely did not deserve to be talked to like that from someone he considered a "friend" . When the Johnny and Miguel scene happened it was very noticeable you both looked as disappointed as most of us have.... those characters have such a tight connection ... that scene was tear jerking . I am all on board for your reactions to season 4 episodes 9&10 . Thank you both for your channel and looking forward to season 5 reactions here .

Stingray is Ok, not the greatest character I agree until that ending beatdown and of course where that story goes for episode 10. Wow!! The biggest flaw was, the house party and Johnny and Daniel's mom being in the same room. Huh, did we miss something there??? How did that happen without any complaints especially the ending "Godfather" pic, with Johnny being on the left and Daniel's mom on the right. That's where I thought, huh and what's up with this Stingray, where's that going. A missed opportunity with Johnny and Daniel's mom in favor of Stingray's plot. But with episode 10, that is explained in the best way. Still thought episode 8 was a little disappointing but it's definitely covered in episode 10.

The last 4 episodes of season 4 are so good! The ending of episode 10 is too damn good. I can't wait for season 5...pure insanity. But, I love how everybody is affecting each other. Daniel screaming "Quiet" at his d-bag son like Johnny would've was great.

People overlook some key traits in Miguel´s character. In S1, when he saw Robby at the LaRusso's, he immediately accused Sam of cheating on him and took out his anger on Robby in the tournament. In S3, when he had that brief conversation with Tory, he completely blamed her for the school fight, disregarding his own part (attacking Robby). Now in S4 you could see very well how jealous he is of Robby as Sam has been staring at him all evening. Again, he presented himself as innocent and pretended to have ignored Tory. Robby's character is exactly the opposite. During the school fight, he tried to protect Sam even when he though out she cheated on him. When he was at the juvie office with Tory (3x08) he defended Sam in front of her and said she made a mistake. Only when he later saw Sam and Miguel with his own eyes in the MiyagiDo dojo, he got angry and blamed Sam for this. And then there are actually people who hope both will become stepbrothers because they are so similar. No, they are completely different characters. Also now with the scene "I love you Robby". All Miguel has asked of Johnny in previous episodes is to be his sensei, not pretend to be his father. Now all of a sudden he wants the exact opposite and is sad to learn that Robby was right, Johnny only thinks of him as a student and not as his son.

I agree. Miguel’s expectations can be too high at times. He now has a taste of how Robby felt growing up. After the comments Miguel made to Robby during the school fight, this was the perfect karma. I see no signs of this rivalry ending. Or Johnny’s arc progressing the way it should.

35:25 AGREED!!! 36:22: I thought she was great…but, if she is Louie’s sister…and Louie is Daniel’s cousin…then she’s Daniel’s cousin, too. Unless she is Louie’s half sister (by the parent not related to Daniel). Either way, it was weird how they acted like they had never met her before.

Well Daniel is 60. She in the show is supposed to be early 20s it seemed like. Plus she sounds like she’s from NJ and was out visiting. I’m 41. I have 2 Cousins that are 12 and 14 I’ve never met. They live on the west coast. I live on the east coast. So it’s possible they don’t really know each other or that this was even the first meeting.

Everyone says every pirate ship at every park goes upside down. If it's wheel driven and doesn't have proper restraints...NO. It does not :D Most don't even go as high as they were designed to, nevermind anywhere near the clearly visible sensor that stops them more than 90 degrees before vertical. But wherever you have those things, the kids say they've been upside down on it when a certain operator is running it, or randomly on some special day where it just randomly happened. You can sit in the booth and hear kids in the line talking about how they've been upside-down on it. :D

I'd suggest that you two watch & react to The Shield. I don't see anyone reacting to that. Talk about a show that will be leaving you reeling with its plethora of "Oh Shit, what's gonna happen next!?" moments. Amazing cliffhangers and season finales, not to mention that the series finale is widely considered one of the best in television history. I can see TBR and Samantha absolutely falling in love with Dutch and Claudette and their intense careers as homicide detectives. Seven seasons, 12 or 13 episodes per season. I think you can get it done in about 6 or 7 months. And I know you and your viewers will LOVE IT. The Shield! That should be next.
