2021 COBRA PUTTERS REVIEW
In this video we will be looking at the new Cobra 2021 3D and vintage putters.
We have brought Joe down from Cobra to show us what these new putters are all about. I will also be getting Will Farley who plays cobra products to give them a go and hear his thoughts on them.

Ducks weren't stupid, and could see there were no treats in store from Wilbur. What he needed to do was manhandle one of those Devonvale Bakery Flapjacks into crumbs, and he'd have more friends than DHG during a Bushnell giveaway!

Nice start with Wilbur doing an impression on Dr Doolittle by talking to the ducks. I would give a Cobra putter a try if I was looking to change. As Wilbur said, once you have found a putter you like your end to stick with it so this is a very brave move by Cobra.

I love Cobra as a company - not the biggest shouters at all but I think that they are the most innovative company by far.

Always think it’s a hard gig selling one putter as better than another.. I play with a guy that’s using a putter that must be 30 years old and wouldn’t look out of place in a bargain bin in a charity shop. However, he’s a better putter than me with my Scotty Phantom x 5.0. So much choice and often comes down to looks, feel in hand then you start to use it and adapt.

Had a putt with the 3D ones recently and I was impressed. Can’t see me swapping out my Scotty Newport 2 for one but they are, on the face of it decent clubs. The guy in the shop said they’ve been very popular since the launch as well.

I brought the 3d printed one when they first came out , came down to 12.6 from 16 ,does exactly what it says on the tin, never felt so confident over my putting

Bottom line is that most better than average players tend to have a herd mentality. Until this brand/line of putters are in the hands of pros, on television and winning, they won't have any greater traction in the market than any others that have come and gone.

Actually bought one earlier this week the vintage nova. I Like the fang style putters as they seem to help me aim. Nice feel of the face and i don’t know if i’m imagening things but it seems to come of the face hotter and with better roll then my scotty cameron newport 3. First round i kept baging the ball into the pin until i got the feel for it.

I'm gaming a Yes Tracey. Had to change the shaft as the original was rusting out from inside but set it up the same so change was seamless. A new putter would take a whole lot of getting used to so I'm with Will, once you have one that works that you believe in you stick with it.

Dan, I bought the Super Nova last week. I absolutely love it. The 4 perimeter weights add so much stability to the impact. The thing that I didn't expect, was that the SIK face seemed to help with putting from off of the green. A problem I had previously is that when I hit the the putter harder from off of the green, I was obviously leaning the shaft too much and "squashing" the ball down into the ground and that made distance unpredictable. The SIK face seemed to help me get the ball up and rolling faster which made green readings from off of the green that little bit more accurate and distance was very constant.

Would deff interested in trying them -- always like Cobra (played the F7/F8+/F9 drivers) but I also recently just grabbed a Bettinardi off the rack and its flow neck matches my stroke perfectly (grew up using a Iron Master putter in the 70s/80s) -- but when that one starts acting up I'll give the Cobra a roll -- good playing Wilbur!

Nice touch showing Will with the little ducklings in the beginning, very charming. Sure I’d try out these putters for a test, but it would take a lot to get me to change. I think putter selection is mostly a matter of feel, and if you find one that feels “right” for you, you tend to stick with it. I’ve tested a few over the years, but I keep going back to the same old putter I’ve had for years that I bought for $9 at a discount store just cause it feels “right” to me and I hole a lot of putts with it. Well done video.

I love what Cobra is doing. They’re not just stepping into the putter market to grab their share, I believe they are actually creating their own piece of the market. Making great products but doing it different.

since the F9 maybe the ltd pro driver they have really come into the market of clubs to have. the woods are in a league of there own for distance no matter where you hit it on the face. there not much drop off.

I love Cobra clubs, so based on that I would test them and see how they feel. I think going with highest possible MOI is a good move with putters, as even if minor help compared to others the impact on your confidence when putting will increase which can only be beneficial. They look good too!

It would come down to distribution and availability of testing Dan, such a hard thing for Pros to do right now is increase their stock even more. Love the ducks!!

Fantastic overview. You're right that to make a splash in the putter market, Cobra had to go beyond old ideas. High MOI doesn't stand out today, but the Sik face does, though I don't know if it is more help than hype. Regardless, thumbs up to Cobra, except for the armlock model (anchoring should not be allowed).

I have tested a few of the new Cobra putters. I really like the look and feel of the Nova from the classic line. I found the coloring on the 3D printed models (black and silver) to be distracting, but they felt nice too.

Just bought a Toulon dan Diego and the quality is amazing,like cobra equipment but the putters are a bit quirky looking,very interesting review though

The only putter I saw missing from that review was the Supernova. Strange because it would seem perfect for Will. It a fang like he's used to, but with the 3d printing. I just bought one here in the states and it's amazing! I was actually holing more puts than I was with the Agera, which was the one I went to buy in the first place. Not sure if it's available yet across the pond, but it might be worth it to have him look into it. Awesome putter and the best of both worlds for Will.

Hey Dan, I am presently a Cobra player, , tour forged irons, Mim wedges, however, I am truly loyal to Scotty Cameron. Tour wins speak for them selves, I would not game a cobra putter, technology or not, I am true to Scotty.

Would look at the SuperNova as I tend to strike all over the clubface - except that here in New Zealand it is about $700-800, stick with my Odyssey for now until I get to a 12 handicap when I have promised my self a new set of Irons at least. Great review Dan.

Dan, I have tested these - the blade 3d putter, that is. Feels nice enough, and puts a good roll on the ball. That being said, I tested it against my scotty cameron newport 2. Nothing jumped out at me in terms of performance. I'm a very good putter, so loft, delivery isn't an issue. I suppose this would make more of a difference for a golfer that doesn't deliver the club consistently. Good feel, not as good as a scotty in terms of that, doesn't look as good either...but if it performs better, I would switch - just didn't see that.

What I really wanted to see was Lester using the arm lock putter . He is in serious need of help and he could become the poster boy for the arm lock .

Since coming back to golf the putter in my bag is the only club I'm not looking to replace. It's a MacGregor Bobby Grace M5K-GT and IMO is not only is a great putter but looks fantastic as well. But with that said I do like the ingenuity and tech behind the Cobra 3D mallet putter, although I was thinking of getting Shotscope v3 and having Arccos in the grips already might be a pain to swap around?

Have tried them and they are good. My one comment is Cobra make top quality gear and have got golfers to buy these through price point and thats worked… until now with the release of the 3d printed range. I can honestly get a Scotty $100 cheaper here in NZ than these 🤔😮

This might be a good idea. I'm probably the worst putter I know and shoot between 75 and 80. I heard Rory McIlroy say he loves a blade but he had to put his ego aside and switch to a mallet because he was losing out on forgiveness and that's kind of where I am now.

I am very interested in buying a putter which would help me line up my shot to where I want. So double ball, longer lines high moi. I have a problem taking the putter back on line is this called the yips?

Their sik face on the arm lock is interesting. i am trying a Big 7 Odyssey Arm Lock and I am having a problem popping up the ball on longer shots.. Wondering if the descending loft tech would help me stop that. The arm lock is making me better at 10' and under, but worse on 20' and over...

@@DanHendriksenGolf I am playing with positioning for sure, but to take off loft, I feel the ball is too far behind me in my stance.. Early on yet... Need to commit to some practice time with it rather than just playing.

Paul, I've been using an Odyssey arm lock since May. I definitely don't push our pull as many (or almost any) shots as I used to.

OK ... let's get controversial. Ban lines on the ball used for lining up putts. Ban those green reading books the PGA uses. Right there you have 30 minutes off the round. Time how long anyone with line(s) on the ball takes to line up the putt ... it can get annoying. Apart from that, green reading is supposed to be a skill or maybe a black art, so back to basics I say.
