14:42 In my country the vans transporting riot police are armoured, so they're used on the front-line too. They have roof hatches from which police personnel can observe the crowd & fire tear gas

At 7:59 does anyone know if the Green Iveco van reg number BU07 AZB have anything to do with the protest or emergency services response? The roof out the vehicle appears to have a camera and other equipment.

Some beautiful motors indeed, but what I don't get is that most of the guys that own (or lease lol) these types of vehicles are rich Arab, Russian etc etc Playboys, who could easily all chip-in to hire out a private airfield somewhere and make a proper night of it, and basically do what they'd like as it wouldn't be subject to the Road Traffic Act? Why the need to use public roads, piss the locals off and attract the attention of the Old Bill...?

Great video! The subtitles imo are a great new feature - keeps everybody's attention even during clips of responses they may not be particularly interested in. (although I don't see why anybody would not watch everything)

Got to love the irony at having probably 30 cars/vans running all day and a helicopter that burns 300 litres an hour so cover a protest to make people be more environmentally friendly.

7:28 The van used is called a "Pixie van". I'm in the job in the same force and I've seen one of the few pixie vans that the Met have, regularly seen one of them parked up outside stations in the south east region where I live. They essentially have two separate caged areas at the back, one next to the other, for transporting two prisoners at a time, they're typically only used at large scale public order events such as protests, marches, etc, as for normal response policing you'd just use a station van (Ford transit custom), I've known it on occasion whereby I arrested a male, and the van unit turned up in a pixie van, simply because there were no station vans available, and the pixie van just happened to have been left at our station having been used up town on aid the previous day. Also note the green mobile CCTV van at 7:59

Eh. It's really only the bad ones who cause trouble. Majority seemed to cooperate with the liasions to make the protests go smoothly without infringing daily business. People are more delayed every day due traffic.

@@ember_shep8181 Agree with what you say, but it only takes one to cause absolute chaos for emergency responders. LAS crews are delayed and diverted quite regularly when there are protests in Central London. The climate protesters are the absolute worse, as they often point blank refuse to move out of the carriageway despite their efforts frustrating the progress of crews attending shouts. I've only experienced it a couple of times up here in the NE of England, but that was more than I care repeat.

How aboot a couple of public order vans blocking each end of the street and then a nice game of " Good evening sir is your car / bike / you and your passengers totally legal." A game best played with as few traffic officers as possible to ensure maaximum effect.

New (2019) white one are just borough vans that may be drafted in for public order duties, blue ones are dedicated TSG ones.

9:33 those vans have an impressive lack of lights, I know it’s the MET but it’s really lacking. If they were behind me I wouldn’t have a clue where the sirens were coming from

That lighting is pretty good for Met standards... usually you'll just find 2 blues in the grille and maybe 2 on in the rear light modules. Newer unmarked as a lot better though, so much so I'd argue new unmarked traffic cars are almost Christmas trees!

Lights on the light bar might be synced in time with the camera thus not showing the blues or its just fronts and not rears idk exactly

Depends which button driver hit, I haven't been in a police carrier for a while (I'm serving in the Met) but the 999 button does all of the lights, and the "Front blues" button I believe does the front lightbar at the top, and the front grille lights as well. Could be broken but may be that he just hit the front blues button instead, ultimately the rear ones don't need to be on, because not putting them on isn't endangering anyone or hindering their progress, since traffic has already moved out of the way from seeing the front flashing lights and hearing the siren. Seen plenty of unmarked cars, that I know have both front and rear flashing lights, driving around responding to calls, and only the front lights on, people who they overtake probably think it's a fake car as they don't see any rear lights, it's often the case the driver just hasn't put them on, because they don't need to, and in some cases it can actually be more dangerous as they are usually bright and dazzle or blind drivers behind.

Considering how many rozzers responded to a demonstration (organised with the police so it would be safe and legal), one can't help but wonder where they were during the illegal car meet. Both were disruptive and created sound pollution. However, the car meet also included speeding, causing danger to e.g. pedestrians, etc. They police should just pull the idiots out of their cars and then confiscate them (and donate them to something more enjoyable where everyone could see/use the cars! After all, nice cars ^^).

Preplanned large scale protests vs, in contrast, a relatively small meet that is likely unplanned and the Met aren't aware of it. Hence why you only get a few response resources arriving at that because nobody has had the notice to cancel rest days and get the extra resources in.

To be honest, it really desperates me watching young people there not wearing at least, face masks (in the beginning of the video)!! I don't want to turn this political, but people are being apathic during this worldwide crisis, starting by british Prime Minister (same happening with the President of Mexico, where he has been selfish with his people). Fantastic catches, Cobra! As always. :D
