Multiple police cars, riot vans, motorcycles and specialist units responding to disorder during 'Kill the Bill' demonstrations in London.
No violence is shown in this video.
On April 3 2021 (Saturday), a 'Kill The Bill' demonstration took place in central London protesting against the 'Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill'; proposed legislation to give police more powers (specifically to police protests). The demonstration turned violent when groups refused to disperse after being asked by police; as roads were being blocked and Coronavirus regulations were not being adhered to. The police operation was as a result changed to the 'enforcement stage' in which officers began to arrest those who failed to disperse.
A total of 107 people were arrested for a variety of offences such as 'breach of the peace; violent disorder; assault on police and breaches of Covid legislation.' - Metropolitan Police.

All Metropolitan & City of London Police 'Public Order Vans (POVs)' featured are Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 'protected carriers'. Typically three Public Order Vans make up a 'Police Support Unit (PSU)' of 1 Inspector, 3 Sergeants and 18 Constables. The blue vans are with the Territorial Support Group (marked 'U' for 'Uniform') who provide specialist level 1 public order policing.

Both are fine in my opinion. But what I'd _really_ have enjoyed seeing is the complete and utter weapon who staggers into shot at 04.05 being Tasered or clubbed with an Arnold baton and being thrown into the rear of the Sprinter... Bet that poor dog was embarrassed beyond belief...

True, but don't forget they police a very small patch, and it won't be too common for the Sprinters to be flogged on a response run. If the vehicle is still relatively low milage, safe, serviceable and is fit for purpose it makes sense in keeping it. They could do with updating those strobes to LEDs, mind...

They weren’t protests. They were riots. People were being violent and damaged property including police vehicles.

@@Djnffnoeosmfasjjd i actually said that because i live in India and we normally just seem to have only one kind of police force and though there are some good police officers, most of the police officers are totally lazy......and won't even help you when you ask them for help and also you need to be after them to get the job done and even with that they will still take money and your job is not done......so yeah, seeing the different police units and other emergency service units in other countries just helps me know the different types of crimes that's prevalent in those countries and how the emergency services respond to such emergencies........to me such videos and the comments below are very educational........because i wouldn't have known a thing about the different emergency vehicles on these videos.....

@@holdencross5904 you can join specific units that do carry guns you know. You can even ask to be transferred to an armed unit. You will just have to do additional training.

@@holdencross5904 ya u can't join armed police till after your two year probationary period. Every officer who joins the police whether planing to become armed etc must go through a probationary 2 year period as its mandatory this is only in place for new applicants if you have previous police experience you don't have to. But ya if you are a recruit you must complete a two probationary process after that you are free to choose whatever specific unit you want to join. Whether that be dog handlers, armed police, or just stay as a normal police constable who's not specially trained for a role, public order police enforcement, traffic enforcement police tho I would recommend traffic enforcement police, you get to drive high powered vehicles and are specifically trained for traffic enforcement plus the u.k has a decreasing number of these specialist police who patrol the motorways and enforce traffic rules and regulations, however it's up to you. Should you be uncomfortable being unarmed but still want to join the armed police a different way you can join the Ministry of defence of police or Civil nuclear constabury after training you will always be armed. And if I remmber right you can transfar to join other armed police forces such as the Metropolitan armed police but I may be wrong.

Awesome catches mate! So many resources for these protests...most of the rallies I’ve seen here in Syd haven’t had that many police deployed in response, and they usually roll in slowly and take their positions rather than rushing in sirens and lights. Maybe Australia’s just more chill 😂

Typical of major cities to be hell to live in for a lot of folks, so don't know how peeps put up with all the noise... London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles... just some cities I'd avoid entirely if possible. I rather put up with Tokyo traffic, or Saint Petersburg traffic for that matter.

There is a new Bill aka law which the UK government is bringing in, parts of it has changes to the way people can protest. Things like not harass or intimidate bystanders, no blocking of the roads so that Ambulances can't respond etc etc. All things the XR protestors did in London over the last 2 years. There are other parts of the bill which give stronger sentences for some crimes. Its going to be interesting to see which side those who vote in the house of commons take, stronger sentences for serious crimes or the right for protestors to harass and intimidate people who what to go about their daily life.

@@vojleyo I hardly doubt the government or the police are putting out false information. Liberals just hate anything that doesn't conform exactly to their point of view - the exact opposite of being liberal you'll note. These new laws sound like a good idea; it will ensure that protests remain as protests and don't become riots and we won't have people gluing themselves to the road or scaring innocent bystanders who are walking by.

The police don't need to match the protest numbers. They use strategies to steer crowds in certain directions or disperse crowds. Not all protests are violent though, so the police will just be nearby in case of any issues.
