Cock up at St David’s - camper van life UK

Күн бұрынMoving on to St David’s in Pembrokeshire we stock up with food and water.
We also need to do some clothes washing and can’t decide on where to park up for the night so try our luck at finding a space at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Site.
But we leave the laundry to the following morning, which may have been a big mistake! Don't you just hate it when a plan backfires!
You can’t visit St David’s and not visit the Cathedral so that’s where we go, followed by St Non’s Chapel and Well.

@@LifeistooshortCK Well, if you look at genetics right across the UK and Ireland you see Nordic Viking genes. It's something in the order (from memory) 70% - Quite high. Always a pleasure. Thanks for showing me around. I'm making plans as we speak. Just not sure how I will fit a Troop Carrier down those lanes or under those hideous height bars.... Beautiful cathedral. Brings to mind all the beautiful ruins I’ve been to in Scotland and Orkney. My house smell wonderful from the orange slices I’m dehydrating for healthy snack on my travels. Whiskey cheesecake making the next couple days😋. Merry Christmas

Fab episode guys. I'm glad you got your laundry done in the end, living in a campervan or motorhome definitely gives you freedom and independence, but it does means you become dependent on others for supplying things like laundry facilities etc.........and things you take for granted when living in a house or staying in a hotel, such as water, power and gas have to be planned for when you're living a campervan. So i wouldn't say its always an easy life. A fascinating history snippet from Carol too, i enjoyed that very much .......thank you! Merry Christmas to you both and see you soon xx

Loved the comment about your viewer that loves to see where their relatives went raiding for their holidays!😂 If it was at Saint David's there was a good chance my relatives would have bumped into theirs! Besides the welsh family connections in south and west wales (or cymru as we 'natives' call it) i was posted in the area for a number of years and you have so many great little sea-side villages to enjoy. Nice to see you got some good weather also.

Thank you for the video. Nice place St David's (became a city in 1994 and is the smallest city in Europe - or so we were told). Great walks along the coast and over the hills. We stayed at that site. Very windy indeed, when we were there.

Great video of necessary routines and awesome food in the van. That was a brilliant animated moment of your trip to the laundrette. I wonder if you remembered Mr Ben when deciding on the format ?. That was very similar, also seeing the laundry in the basket and no Carol made me think that she went on an adventure through the dressing room. 😏

Very unusual little bridge outside of the car park. The road on 2 different levels and a wall in the middle. St David;s chapel and well was very nice Carol. Getting very good with your presentation.

Hello Pauline, Ken here. We are glad you are enjoying the videos. I often think about what would I do if I lost Carol and I dread that thought. One of us will go first and I pray that we have many more years before that happens. These videos will be our memories one day which is why we make them. 42 years is a long time to love someone and if our videos bring back memories of the good times you had with your husband then that is just great. Another lovely video Carol and Ken. Experience has taught me always to use bottled water. Public drinking taps can often be contaminated. I've even witnessed people cleaning their toilets out by putting the tap directly into their cassette!! Regards. Sally

It seems universal that other people's driving efforts turn unto an involuntary personal scrotum constriction. Main thing is you eat well. You have history everywhere. I live in Pembroke Ontario and you visited Pembrokeshire. LOL Amazing how those floor tiles survived. Great shots. Very nice walkthrough of that chapel site Carol. Is the LRC being strung with lights for the holidays? How big is the tree? Nice video have fun.

As I am late Happy New Year and pleasant travels. Not all city's have a cathedral. There are 18 cities without a cathedral some are surprising Brighton. Bath, Cambridge etc, and the newest Southend which was made a city in September, and there are some towns with cathedrals.

Me and my former girlfriend cycled coast to coast from Lowestoft to St Davids back in August. We did 765 km in 10 days and spent 3 nights in St Davids in that hotel almost in front of the NISA you did the shopping. It was one of the worst hotels I stayed in my life. I wish I had my camper van there... would have been a lot more comfortable.
