Coco is a passage female American kestrel that has adapted very well to the daily rhythm of her life in falconry: She’s an excellent starling hunter and very comfortable at home-the ideal combination for any trained hunting bird. Starlings are a invasive, non-native species here but have become an important food resource for wild kestrels here, not to mention all our other native bird-eating raptors.
This video is mainly a lot of sitting and preening, if you’re into that.

My first REAL introduction to American Kestrels in falconry was with your book "American Kestrels in Modern Falconry" Matthew Mullenix. You helped me through my journey in falconry, starting off with an American Kestrel "Eve." Thanks to the guidance you gave in your book, she racked up 15 bird kills her first season - starting late after I trapped her New Year's Eve - and 30 more her second season, all in the field, before her release. (I feel she could have had a much greater tally if I could have car-hawked with her) I love the videos you put out of your Kestrels now, and hope you don't stop. Thank you so much. 😁

Hey Matt, I came across this video of you hunting with your Kestrel. I previously commented on one of your videos, asking when that was going to happen, but I see it's been happening already. I'm impressed. 😎📹👍

I think falconry is or will trend towards micro falconry, with the ever changing landscape. I've wanted to jump over for years and fly a merlin. I just don't have the time. And, as I type this I have your book on the shelf above me.
