Coco Coir In Hydroponics

I had a brick of coco coir sitting in my garage that I didn't even realize was there. I think I'll take advantage of it and use it for my hydroponic system this year.
Coconut Coir's has a fairly neutral pH of 5.8-6.8 which makes it ideal for gardens and hydroponic system alike. The fiber allows for a great air to water ratio that the plants will enjoy and that some claim is an even better medium to grow in than rockwool.

Started grow 3 weeks ago indoor/out in my own soil mix but got my Coco coir today and transplanting. I don't mind the dirt but I'm going to try coir with amendments and my new hydro nutrients..so excited

Just got some royal gold coco fiber for this year. Brock gave it some high reviews, so I picked some up. Looks like you're off to a good start !

Did a couple Dutch Buckets in Coir last year, was very pleased with the results. Got a 2 pound tomato using it. (Not that it was the Coir that put it over 2 lbs...)

I just started growing in this cocoa called Basement Mix and is a soiless mix. should I be watering everyday with 20% run off and if so how many times would I feed a month?

I have used coir in my soil garden a few times and found it was a good neutral media however being the soil gardener I am I found leaf compost or mold did the job with nutrients. They do however take awhile to become ready for planting.

does coco peat or coco coir can be used in hydroponics if it is then please make a video from germinating a seed to transfer into pot through hydroponic

should i be using calimag with canna coco coir (buffered) and canna coco a and b nutes? using tap water which is high alkaline. i dont have an ec meter yet. can anyone help? please!

dave oneil yes u do need to use calmag as coco coir holds onto the calmag.

Hi. I am interested in going into hydroponics ( vegetables and fruits) do you have any recommendations in terms of fertilizers I should be using and maybe where I can get it or even tips on making my own nutrients I live in the Caribbean so I would have to purchase online as hydroponics is to my knowledge non existant here. I am a struggling entrepreneur and hoping this could assist me to have an edge and also I love gardening but have limited soil space

+Platinum IslandGirl Hey IslandGirl. I'm just starting hydroponic gardening myself. I live in South Texas near Gulf waters and the winters are pretty mild. I thought I would start simple with lettuce and Pak Choi and work my way up to fruits like watermelon, cantaloupes, and tomatoes. I suggest watching a lot of youtube video's to get the concepts, thats what Iam doing. Hey, maybe when you get started we can swap seeds with each other! Good luck

Carolcheney This is why you shouldn't comment on things you know nothing about.. coco is a soil-less medium... maybe you should look up what hydroponics is
