COCONUT IS HEALTHY AND DOES NOT CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN ?

Whoever says this is misguided or misguiding. Considering healthy foods can be eaten in unlimited quantities is a big cause for weight gain and even nutritional deficiencies.

Calories matter:
A person will not gain weight even if he eats one whole coconut a day and manages to balance the total calorie intake as per his daily calorie requirement (DCR). But would certainly gain if he exceeds his DCR. This weight gain would not be only due to the coconut, it’s always all the calories put together. Now to lose this excess this person would have to make choices to eliminate/reduce some food/s from his diet based on his preferences to stay under his DCR and create a calorie deficit.

Health is not binary, there could be different levels in health. Same way food and nutrition too should not be seen from extreme ends. Between eating and not eating a coconut, lies different suitable quantities for every individual based on his preference.
