Released in 1991, Cocoron is a platformer for the NES which is notable for allowing customization of the main character. The story starts with the introduction of Tapir, a magical tapir capable of creating dreams. The goal of the game is to rescue Princess Mua, who has been captured by the evil wizard Baku. At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

This guy did a great job commenting, and seemingly a good job playing at the same time. I played this game a while ago after seeing part of a Let's Play of it. I confirm that it is really fun. Obviously it's got some balance problems (flying characters are very good, some weapons are MUCH easier to use than others) but it's the sort of playfully sloppy game where you don't really need to care about that (unless you're a speedrunner). The character creation and weird stage-route mechanic are quite cool, and it's a shame that more games don't do both of those things.

If I had to take a good guess, english is not his first language. It sounds like a strong German accent, and it is quite hard for us to get rid of that. Minding that, he did pretty okay, aside from smaller stutters (which might be due to being nervous).

UltimateShingo I think it's Kotty who was reading the donations at the time. He did a run of one of the Hitman games I believe, which should be up at some point soon.
