At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

As I grow older, I appreciate how well-designed this game is more and more. It has been one of my faves basically since it came out. I never knew there were more, but only in Japanese!!! I need to find a translator and play through them! Please do more of these games in future AGDQs, it would be so great.

I have really fond memories of playing this game a lot with my brother. When we were younger we used to go through all our NES and SNES games and decide which ones we were going to play through together (Co-op) or play against each other (VS) Or just tag-teamed a single player game taking turns. We'd stack up the good ones, and Legend of the mystical ninja is always one of them!

I bought this game at a flea market or something during the 64 era. I played it because of hearing about mystical ninja 64. I really loved the game despite the other games for the 64 I had available to play.

One of my favorite games, ever. Ganbare Goemon on N64 with 4 players was very fun as well.

Goemon!! Yes!! I'm so happy!! This game series needs loads more love in the US, it's huge in Japan but I don't know of anywhere else it's been ported to with a good following...

If this is the one my brothers and I played I recall an arcade in the game where you can actually play Gradius. I thought that was so cool to have a game within a game back then.

+DegenerateProduction Yep. You could also play a few other arcade games like Pong and some other stuff. We used to waste a lot of time finding everything and playing those arcade games too, haha.

+Ace C That depends on the skill level of the player. A lot of speed running involves memorizing where to go and being able to play effectively. Technically all speed runners are always mastering the games by optimizing runs and competing to make it faster and faster.
