A young lady I was dating back 88 introduced me to the Cocteau Twins one night and I have been a fan ever since. I lost contact with my ex over 20 yrs ago but every time I hear their music I still think of that night so long ago. God bless you Sherrie and thank you.

Shum and I were close friends, but we both had a healthy competition between each other about collecting band memorabilia. The more rare and obscure the Cocteau Twins item was ― You'd find us both outbidding each other. Shum was uber-dedicated, but once I offered him the opportunity to read the movie script for the Cocteau Twins movie. When he learned I had it, he asked about the circumstances for its inception and Elizabeth's request that it not be shared, Shum said: "I'll not read anything that Ms. Fraser has asked to be kept secret and safe with you.... !!!!" How many people would have done this? What a true gentleman he was, but I know he hears "The Voice of God" wherever he's traveling to, because like myself, his heart remembers and probably even sings the same music for others to hear ― With his tremendous heart. I will truly miss my buddy 💔.... !!!!

@@spinglasshydraOut of curiosity, how did you know Fraser and how did you get a supposed film script? This is the first time I'm hearing about a supposed CT movie so I have to ask.

@@Nosferigatoni There was a dedicated fan, as well as close friend to the Cocteaux' named Leesa Beals. Leesa became the bands impromptu secretary, scheduler, and even helped to load the trucks with sound equipment for European tours. She was the one responsible for creating the first "Official Cocteau Twins Website", "The Cocteau Fest" which happens every two years, as well as the "Original Cocteau Forum". The original Cocteau Forum was hosted by Leesa and there were only 33 of us in attendance, because the Internet was still very new and Google hadn't come out with their search engine yet. We 33 found ways to spend time together and at least one band member would usually show-up and speak to us all. Leesa was always the moderator; but, she had secretly been interviewing each band member and after many years they authorized her to assemble their biography. Although they never felt worthy of the attention, Lessa took her time, but she became best friends with Elizabeth Fraser. Even when Elizabeth and Tim Buckley were traveling back and forth between Great Britain and the United States ― Elizabeth confided in only two people, that were only Simon Raymonde and Leesa Beals. After so many years, we 33 members called ourselves "Cocteau Twins Super-Fan's" because of people like David (aka., Shum) along with the others who were rather obsessive, so we took the initiative to decipher all the Cocteau Twins songs, because we knew Elizabeth had lyrics, but outsiders kept up the great debate. It took us years, but we managed to unravel Elizabeth's Lyrics and we presented a copy to Elizabeth. What we didn't intend was for Elizabeth's reaction. She began to cry and all of us thought we had broken a sacred trust that Elizabeth had placed within everyone ― However, Elizabeth knew someone would do it eventually, so she made all of us promise that none of her lyrics would ever be circulated around to the general public. That's a promise even David (aka., Shum) swore to keep; however, we are all getting older and so for those who have passed-away already, the Cocteaux' Lyrics Book we created, has eventually made their way into the mainstream population. Robin has since then posted a "lyrics copyright ― block" on all the lyrics websites. I always spoke with Leesa over two full decades; however, she knew I had been working for a small Publisher in Los Angeles and we'd continue our friendship until, out of the blue, Leesa mentioned she herself had the authorization from Elizabeth to assemble everything Leesa had accumulated together into developing a movie script. Leesa, unbeknownst to most of we "33" that she had been battling cancer, so her energy was running on low and she was busy trying to find the right financial backers to start filming. I received several versions of the movie script, so I took care of that end of the project, while Leesa was in Chemotherapy and trying to stay on top of her duties with the band; she eventually succumb to the disease. On the day of her funeral, I flew from Los Angeles into London and drove the rest of the way up to Scotland. Of course, Elizabeth, Robin, and Simon were in attendance, but afterward I had a finished copy of the movie script in hand ― Elizabeth was in severe distress about losing Leesa. Elizabeth knows me, so we began to speak, off and on about the project; however, unfortunately she began to fall out of love with the idea of a biographical movie. In between everything they endured: the band separated; Tim Buckley's death in the US; Robin's addictions to alcohol and drugs; the a general defeatism began to impose a different will upon all of us. It was Robin who spoke with myself and said: "You know, I think you had better keep the original script copy ― Elizabeth and I ask that you never release it to the public..... !!!!" Elizabeth reinforced the same conversation, so she had me also make "A solemn promise", that I'd never release it to the public, until upon her death. It's a promise I've kept, although I did ask Elizabeth permission, if we 33, consisting of the "Original Cocteau Twins Forum - Superfans" could read it ― Some member's did so; however, others like David (aka., Shum) denied themselves the opportunity to read the script's contents. If all three members would at least agree to let me write a biographical book, I'd do it in a second. Between David and myself, we amassed the 'ultimate' Cocteau Twins memorabilia collections, except I topped him by holding onto the movie script. On the other hand, he had managed to find the original tape cassette for "Pearly Dewdrops Drop" that preceeded to accompanied for mastering, although Robin did all of his own mastering. He and I'd debate over rarest of the rare obscure portions of the bands items, so he'd ask me the same question every time: "Is this for collection 'A' or is it collection 'B' ....???" He knew I had a copy of two of almost everything and so begged the question about "Why?" I told David: "Whenever, humanity collapses into nothingness, I want Alien Archaeologist's to find my bank vaulted copy of everything to understand know and understand, that Humanity had true beauty here on Earth ― We were less primitive than what our eyes alone could ever explain because ― 'Music is Alive' ".
