What might have been a routine traffic stop escalated into a chaotic situation. On March 8, 2023, a patrol officer in Jackson, WI, stopped a vehicle with a faulty brake light. The driver parked in a handicapped spot at a store, ignored commands, and resisted arrest. Upon reaching the hospital, the male decided to give officers a round two.

Oh hell the ole marijuana smell which is arbitrary and irrelevant, the officer was nowhere near the car, literally had already pulled in Walgreens and officer then profiled it, AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED AND HE EXITED the cop then lights up a parked car, and being parked and walked in was no traffic stop, the officer should have said “you have a brake light out, get it fixed”. ALL THIS CAUSE COPS TRIPPIN ON BRAKE LIGHT! This case will indeed get dropped. Waste of tax payer money. And let’s don’t forget that ANYONE IN THE FAMILY CAN HANG THERE HANDICAP PLAQUE IN SOMEONES CAR, AND AS LONG AS HES NOT IN A HANDICAP SPOT, but even still ARBITRARY AFTER THE FACT. I had a similar situation driving with a headlight out (that I was unaware of). Officer suggested I run high beams for the short distance to work, by which time it would be daylight so I wouldn’t need the lights til the following day. Let me off with a warning, not even a fix it, and I fixed the light that day.

Was arrested a few times as a youth, i get it. But why people feel the need to argue and fight w cops drives me nuts. When a cop is standing in fron of you, or at your car window, is not the time to fight. Court is the time to fight. This "they're hunting us" narrative is 100% bs. Years ago I "niced" my way out of an equipment violation ticket, I was out doing my daily business stuff in a car that had issues with break/rear lights(wheel wells rusted out), the officer stopped me and said I have no brake lights, I said yeah I have been working on it the parts for this car are hard to get... I showed him the trunk where it was rusted out ... he took my license and registration(before required insurance), came back and handed me my stuff and said don't drive it until you get it fixed... NO long discussion, no ticket, no arrest.

He states that he was not in or operating his vehicle when the officer initiated the the traffic stop, and that it was therefore illegal. He was 100% correct. The dashcam shows that the police didnt even turn on his lights until the man was walking away from his car. Precedent has consistently sided with the motorist in cases like this, and the supreme court maintains that the stop must be initiated on a vehicle with an operator in the driver's seat, and typically on a public roadway. The cop was totally outside of his authority, and civil rights lawyers have won several similar cases in the past. A cop worth his weight in manure would have simply waited for him to leave, at which point the cop would actually have the right to pull him over, but instead we get boomer hate fuel and a settlement that taxpayers fork over.

no because he and the car smelled of marijuana, right? wouldnt they have cause for the smell? thats why the guy immediately parked and got out of the car because he was actually trying to abandon the car/lead police away from it, and possibly talk his way out or get a ticket away from the car so maybe just maybe they wouldnt smell anything but yet the smell was also on him so he was doomed either way. people do stupid stuff like smoking that crp while driving so it is what it is. they do it to themselves and they pay the consequences. do that stuff at home, not outside. and if u know u did it at home, then dont leave the house until u take a shower, brush teeth, and put new clothes on. ppl are just plain out dumb and thats just how it is.

@@gameosphere7660 Depends on the cop and what else they have going on, also depends on the city/state for how they enforce weed. In most cases, the cop wouldn't spend too much time on the stop because they'd just want to let the person know their brake light wasn't working and needed to get fixed.
