I've played through man effect 1-3 so many times and I've just never had the heart to kill or Betray my Krogan bro

Makes sense this takes place after rannoch, since tali can potentially die in that mission. By this point you have killed 3 goated squadmates.

The only thing I thought they missed out on was having an option where Shepard explains to Wrex that the war has finally broken them. That the years of fighting and making the hard choices made them betray a friend in the name of the greater good. And Wrex seems shocked and saddened by this and his gun lowers as he commiserates with Shepard that even the best leaders can be broken due to loss. And for a while it looks like you're winning him over and everything will work out. It's the power of friendship. Then Shepard asks that Wrex only take vengeance on him/her and not forsake the rest of the galaxy because his friend became a broken person. And Wrex tearfully vows that he'll help Hackett fight off the Reapers. Then he shoots you in the face. It was never a way to diffuse the situation. It was a nonstandard game-over the whole time.

I have never done this but so... it just happens randomly after visiting the citadel a few times right? Or like doing a couple missions and coming back?

Salarians will be angry at first but after Cerberus raids The Citadel, they'll suddenly be very eager to help. I'm not sure if this depends on whether or not you killed the old council in ME1, though.

Not necessarily true. It really depends on who is the leader. If Wrex is leading the Krogan, then yes, in the long run it still would pay off. If Wreav was leading the Krogans, no. That would not end well in the long run.

Kaila Young on Virmire you have to disrupt the communications terminal, destroy the satellite uplink tower, destroy the Geth flyers and refueling station, and disable the alarms (not send them to the other side). That will keep Kirrahe and his team alive.

Also I think you have to save whoever is at the AA Tower but I’m not 100% sure on that one

I don't remember all the details lol but all I do remember is that I had Kaidan set the nuke and Ashley went with Kirrahe... and I... saved... KaiOH MY GOSH KIRRAHE IS DEAD

You can convince Mordin to not cure the genophage so he survives. I'm not sure what the requirements are though.

@@DiggitySlice There are two requirements to persuade Mordin not to cure the genophage: first, either Shepard or Ashley must have killed Wrex on Virmire back in ME1, so Wreav becomes the leader of the krogan later. Then, in ME2, Maelon's research data must have been destroyed, which will eventually cause Eve's death in ME3 due to the stress of the cure. With both Wrex and Eve dead, Shepard can Charm or Intimidate Mordin by pointing out that Wreav as sole leader of the krogan would just make things worse if the genophage were cured.

I f**King hope not, because the shows has been one disaster after the next, making a mass effect tv series is more like adding it to a rep sheet than doing it justice. But to answer your question, I had an idea, they should do paragon in first, a conflicted Shepard in 2nd, and darth vader Shepard on the 3rd. Same storyline, without the sidequests, try to include sidequest that are important like the earth moon where EDI woke up, and change a bit mass effect 3 storyline, instead of them appearing in missions just as side quest, make shepard go rescue them. And his role, just mash them all together, except engineer and vanguard. And when shepard is angry make him/her explode in rage with overcharged L5 implants, Aria + Jack powers, like aria did in me3 omega dlc. The romance though Tali, for both male and female shep, main heroine should be Liara, but I think Tali would make everyone just dying to see her without mask and her suit, and most will not expect it. I got more but that long enough, what you think?

Not really. The Krogan are only good as shock troops for ground combat. Useful in ground battles on invaded planets but not for much else, since they don't even have a fleet. Meanwhile the Salarians have a decent size fleet and the best scientists in the galaxy, which is far more useful to actually winning the war. Of course the paragon option still gets Salarian support later anyway, but if it was a true choice then Salarians would be by far an objectively better one.

I don't know about that, resolution of war are determined by scientific advantages, victory is determined by logistics. You COULD argue that the salarian fleet is far more useful. But over the course of human history, its been proven just how valuable boots on the ground are despite the leaps and bounds we've made in more complex weapon systems.

Krogans are natural born fighters, and most if not all are experienced warriors. In a game of violence and numbers, the krogans will come out as a far more valuable asset, again, not accounting for spaceships.

Wotan Here's the bottom line. Earth needs Palaven's fleet. The Turians won't help Earth unless they get Krogan boots on the ground to help evacuate Palaven and wage ground campaigns against the Reapers. No Krogan means no Turian fleet for Earth, especially once Wrex withdraws his support. Salarians are not suited to wage frontline ground campaigns so they are all but useless in evacuating Palaven and all but useless in frontline combat against the reapers. Their specialty is stealth, surgical strikes, and sabotage, which to quote Matriach Aetheyta is about as useful against the Reapers as "tits on a hanar" Also the Turians don't need the Salarians' ships....they have the largest professional military fleet in the galaxy. What they need is more frontline ground troops. So yes if you were just choosing one over the other, the Salarians may be more useful. But when you consider the needs of the Turian fleet the Krogan are more useful by far.

+Wotan that's what's annoying about Mass Effect, if you choose to be a Renegade you get absolutely shit results, so if you want the best things to happen you end up having to pick Paragon options even if you think the dialogue choice is stupid.

I agree that is the right thing to do, at least for Wrex because of what you said about his potential to bring a brighter future for the Krogan. On the other hand, I do believe it’s “temporarily right” to sabotage if it’s Wreav and Eve’s dead, because he’s the exact opposite of what Wrex can bring both to the Krogan and the galaxy.

The genophage doesn't make them violent, though. They were violent before, hence getting the genophage enacted. You also see it in their biology, where Grunt's "puberty" is him getting excited about murdering people. Seems to be a lot of factors outside just the genophage.

I actually love the conflict if you betray Wrex. It's very dramatic, and sabotaging the cure is not completely unjustifiable. The majority of Krogan you meet in the ME universe are _not like Wrex_ - he's atypical. Frankly, most of them are brutes that want nothing more than to kill - they don't care who they're working for or why. The Krogan plunged the galaxy into total war once. Can you really be certain they'll never do it again? When the Council races are bloodied and battered after the Reaper War is over, will the Krogan push for war against Wrex's wishes? Wrex isn't omnipotent. And if Wrex and Eve do manage to lead the Krogan in a more peaceful direction, then that's wonderful... but they're not immortal, and how do we know that the Krogan will hold to their philosophy once they're gone? Wrex is completely justified in his desperation to save his people. He is singleminded in his determination. Shepard might believe both Krogan and Salarian support is needed to save Earth and see only one way to get it. It's a battle of wills between two people who absolutely will not back down, and it's inevitable someone's gonna die. It's a very ugly situation but a very compelling one.

@@pickledparsleyparty The thing that always turned me off to control/synthesis is that both of those choices are parroted by indoctrinated people. Saren basically pushed for Synthesis throughout mass effect 1, and TIM was trying for Control. It leads me to believe that (whether BW intended this or not) doing anything other than 'destroy' was just playing into the reapers hand. You have to assume they're ok with Saren or TIM winning out over the 'destroy' people, otherwise they wouldn't be indoctrinated. Just my 2 cents.

David Rosensin Dialogue hints at TIM having the right idea all along, just going about it wrong and being indoctrinated in the process. Mind you, it throws this dialogue at you at the very end, which feels kind of cheap, they should’ve foreshadowed it in someway. For all the shit the ending(s) gets, either of the 3 choices have their ups and downs if you think on them too long. My only issue with Destroy is that it’s obviously coded renegade (Control + Synthesis are fairly flexible) because why go through the effort of defending the Geth or even ending a war between the Geth and Quarians (and in turn helping the Quarians prosper much quicker than they would have without the Geth) and then just being like “You actually have to die now, oops.” It makes more sense if you destroyed the Geth in the process.

@@KendylTV I don't know, going about control "right" would probably entail a lot more than just holding two sticks and "controlling" the reaper. Seems suspicious. I agree with the earlier commentor. Both Control and Synthesis both feel like the reapers winning, while claiming you won and are in control. If i was the reapers, that's what i would do. Make the child think they have the controller, meanwhile it's not actually plugged into the console.

Well, maybe not doomed to extinction. Mordin makes it clear in ME2 that the Genophage isn't a sterility plague; it reduces Krogan fertility to a level that just about allows them to maintain their population. And Mordin actually needed to modify it to compensate for Krogan adaptive evolution reducing it's efficacy. Cure or no cure, the Krogan will eventually overcome the Genophage unless it's modified again.

Why don't you think it makes sense? From a purely ruthless, practical perspective it's the only way to get the maximum amount of support for the war.

@@Zomdra Ignore that this is a game and it's all about making a number go higher, actually think about the logic behind what the Salarians want and what they put on the table. If you take their deal, the Krogan race is as good as dead. Tricking them into thinking the genophage is cured is tricking them into their own genocide. And the Salarians have decided that the possibility of all Krogans dying out is the cost of their support. They will not help you if you don't let the Krogans get genocided. And that's putting aside the possibility of them discovering the treachery, like what happens here, making the situation even worse. But alright, you want to sacrifice an entire species, what do you get in return? Some spy planes that aren't going to work because the most advanced stealth frigate in the entire galaxy, the Normandy, barely escapes the notice of the reapers(and Cerberus built the damn thing so they probably also know a thing or two about stealth ships), and the objectively weakest military in terms of brute strength. Honestly, the game should give you like 50 points of readiness for full Salarian support because none of their strengths are applicable here, they're just a thin layer of meat to slow the reapers down a couple of weeks. Hell, the Salarians themselves know this and end up joining with you anyways no matter your decision. Yeah, in a war like this, sacrifices do sometimes have to be made, but in this situation, either A. the Salarians wouldn't be so dumb as to ride a grudge straight to their graves, or B. if they are, it doesn't matter because ultimately you were only going to do marginally better with them on your side, and they are at less risk of dying out as a species after this war. Even if your a ruthless and strictly practical Shepherd, you'd have to be kind of an idiot to see the death of an entire species worth the support of the one military who are the least prepared for a foe like the reapers, and will most likely end up joining anyways due to that.

@@Monomiknose They were thinking about the long term consequences, Wrex presents a different threat in his progressive nature means they would quickly rally races around them to oust the Salarian who have done things to maintain their base of power through sabotage and engineered long term extinctions if they are deemed uncontrollable (see the Yahg). Wrex may even allow the Yahg to become part of the Krogan people given their obedience toward stronger groups. Meanwhile Wreav is self explanatory.
