I would never question the score you give something. I feel like it's totally objective, an opinion just can't be wrong. Much of my alcohol consumption on a day to day basis is to help with pain control.

Coffeemels are some of our group's favorite meads. Cold brew is definitely the way to go, and caffeine survives fermentation like a champ. Flavored coffees have been fun to experiment with, and we have even gotten multiple commissions for a chocolate raspberry torte coffemel.

Very nice. This is interesting for me because I started this hobby about a year ago. What is so cool now is that I'm starting to see your one year tastings. You have been so unbelievably helpful and responsive when I've had questions ... MANY questoins. I don't know how you do it. Clearly you have multiple stunt doubles or is it stunts double?!! This particular recipe is on my list. Hmmmm, I think I'll bump it up on the playlist!!! Thanks for your fantastic content.

I’ve been wanting to do this one. I finished drinking my Blackberry/orange blossom and it was so good it didn’t last I really wanted to save a bottle but I couldn’t so I started another batch and I started your metheglin you said was your best mead ever can’t wait to try it.

Try Making a Date Juice mead with coffee. (1gal) Honey - Date Juice {water+date syrup} & and 1 cup of dried dates - 1/3 cup of whole bean dark roast coffee " I like Cafe Bustelo Supreme Whole Bean or Peets coffee". The Date taste really good with the coffee, sweeter side is better, i think.

YUM!!!! I can't wait to make a coffemel! I start my day, every day with 1-2 pots of coffee. Honestly, I had wanted to do a mochamel? To make it really special I wanted to use Meadowfoam honey from Flying Bee Ranch, as I understand it has a toasted marshmallow aftertaste! I just applied for SSDI, so I'm not working, you'll probably have a chance to make this long before I can.

I've been making coffeebucha. My hubs really wants me to make a mead and I really love anything coffee. I see a coffeemel in our future.

This is a bucket list brew for me. But I also for other culinary applications with it like brushing the layers of my cream mocha cake. Just like the chocolate covered cherry wine I have going I wanted macerate fresh cherries with it for use in my black forest cake. So see, you folks have inspired me twice already.

If I'm not mistaken, a couple of years ago, you guys had a video making coffee mead. And I think you had a video making jalapeno mead. That was the first time I tried mead or winemaking. The irony is that today, I just got through making a new batch of coffee mead, and then I sat down, and this video popped up. It has been a ton of fun watching you make different beverages and learning from the two of you. Keep up the good work, friends.

I made mine from a previous video you made. it's about 2 years old... And it's like Bayley's and I got to 16 % probably because I cut the acidity using decaffeinated

I have always wondered this, what if you made a banana and walnut wine, but oaked it and back sweetened with maple syrup. I feel like the smokiness mixed with the maple syrup will pair with the banana walnut flavor very well

@@CitySteadingBrews just occurred to me you could add marbles to a cheese cloth bag to weigh it down during fermentation to keep it from floating and blocking C02 release, at least that's my plan for my dandelion batch that a relative requested happy brewing

What would you call a Coffeemel/acerglyn? My first "on my own" recipe was a dark roast cold brew with 1.75# fall flowers honey and 1.25# maple syrup with bread yeast. Back-sweetened with maple syrup to 1.035 I also added a splash of vanilla Imo it turned out really well. I may enter it into our local fair. I don't think it's going to make a year😂

I made a coffemel 4 Weeks ago, it has now stalled at 1.120 with a sg of 1.164, I have already racked it but nothing is working so far to get it going again. Do u have any suggestions

I would dilute it. That's far too high a gravity for any yeast.

I've been roasting coffee for several years I also started beekeeping last year and I have my first batch of meads fermenting at the moment (based on a lot of awesome information from your channel), so a coffeemel from my own coffee and my own honey seems like the ultimate DIY adventure. But I sort of hate the taste of black coffee with honey (I drink coffee straight black) so I fear I will not like it. Is it "black coffee with honey" adjacent? 😅

There is a method of separating milk and making mead from it. Blaand, or something like that. I've never made it--I hate milk--but you can find videos and recipes, if that's your thing.

The *only* hesitation I have re: the "white viking" cocktail name is that it may give some people the wrong idea about your beliefs vis-a-vis certain Nordic folks' beliefs re: being white. If you understand my meaning.

Meh... the words white and black are colors. It's not a racial slur and if someone takes it that way they really need to reconsider their life choices. The original name was "White Russian".
