Megadeth (dave) always know how to choose their lead guitarists. Maybe the best ones in the history of metal music (marty friedman, chris Broderick, kiko ...)
@Shredberry
@Shredberry 4 жыл бұрын
Def. That's because of his multi-genre background. Too often Metal ppl only stick to Metal and eventually it just all sounds the same. That's why even Ola is shocked that his solo works are not all shreddy metal stuff but fusion even an full album that was just pure jazz. Every musician should aspire to be multi-genre.

Just an opinion. Dont flip out. I saw Kiko with Megadeth, perhaps 2 years ago. Excellent. I didnt think I would love another player in that role as much as Marty Friedman, but I think I think he changed that. A unique voice all of his own.

@jasper426 not really. We basically only learn English at school, and very rarely Spanish. But the English you learn at school is definitely not enough to hold even the most basic of conversations. To learn English in Brazil, you have to actively search for a course or or be self taught. Maybe he is part portuguese, I'm not sure, but he grew up entirely in Brazil, so it doesn't really matter for his language learning.

I will never forget that time when I watched Megadeth. Kiko was about to throw his pick after the show. A lot of people were getting ready to jump for it so I didn't bother to try to give it a shot as well because it seems hopeless. He threw it and it landed on my forearm. I immediately folded my arms to lock it and acted naturally while everyone was down on their knees trying to look for it on the floor. I slowly walked away and when I was already far, I looked back and saw the people still on the floor. I still have that pick. I uploaded a photo of it on my Instagram account and Kiko himself gave it a like. I was happy for weeks. Until now, I guess.

Awesome coffee with Ola, I never thought how easy going is Kiko, so relaxed, so clever too. I'm agree with him about is not the large numbers of hours you dedicate to play guitar, it's about how efficient and focus you will be. So, 1 hour focus is better than 5 hours practicing making the same mistakes. Nice tip, and the best of all, do it to make you fun. Thanks Ola, thanks Kiko, a total honor hear and see you, thanks for share knowledge with us. So, greetings from this Venezuelan guy who lives in Uruguay now. Best regards. 🤘😎🤘🍻🤗🇺🇾

What a versatile player. I love that Kiko doesn't try to fit just one sound or give it all up just because he's now in Megadeth. He still continues to focus on his styles and keep growing as a guitar player. Very interesting and inspiring to watch.

Unreal episode!!! Also epic shout out for Robin! That was so touching it made my day! Also really agree with the "quit while you're on top" theory for practicing, obviously dont cut what you're doing short but dont keep going and going till you start sounding worse or get frustrated

To be honest I've never been a Kiko's fan. this may be the best '' Coffee with Ola''. lots of advice, many years of effort does not mean practicing the same thing for 10 hours a day.. a lesson I learned 20 years ago - secret is in the right hand. the best example: KFK, J. Hetfield, Gary Holt, etc.... I like a part in 34:50, it's beginning of Satriani's '' Power Cosmic'' but with picking. Thanks to Kiko and Ola!!!!! Cheers from Serbia!!
