Went up to Brisbane from Wollongong in October and I was surprised the amount of bypasses. I hadn’t driven up that way since Expo ‘88. As much as I enjoyed the ease of driving on the freeways it was a little sad missing all those places we use to stop at. Saying that I had to have an emergency stop off the freeway at Logan. Now there’s one place I’ll be glad to miss on any future trips.

Wow I didn't realise the project was this far advanced. Hope you can keep doing these videos over the life of the build. I find this stuff fascinating. Looking forward to being able to use this road in a few years time.

Lol this should’ve been done 30 years ago as with the Hume hwy. So many ppl died on these dangerous busy old highways that shouldn’t have. Some third world countries have better roads than Australia
@hcrun4 ай бұрын
@@Cuddywuddles Yeah, we all know how long ago it "should've been done" but the world is full of "should'ves".
@Secretlyanothername4 ай бұрын
Australia is the size of Europe with just 25 million people. We have excellent roads considering the huge distances we have to cover. Yes, we could do more, but then you wouldn't get your tax cuts.
@Cuddywuddles4 ай бұрын
@@hcrun the government keeps telling us “if it just saves one life” ( ridiculous speed limits and multiple speed zones, speed cameras and speed traps everywhere, booze and drug road blocks, number plate recognition, authoritarian enforcement, speed humps everywhere, roundabouts, chicanes everywhere, the taking away of traffic lanes …it’s worth doing “It’s all for you safety”. It seems they only go by that motto when it suits them…when it actually makes them billions! But when it comes to spending money on roads they use every excuse under the sun and safety goes out the window. We are just talking about two highways between the three major cities in Australia. The death rate was appalling due the state of these roads. And they always blamed the driver’s. Meanwhile the rest of the world had safety highways (duels divided carriageways ) starting from the 1950s

@@hcrun I hate censorship don’t you agree? Wouldn’t you love to have a conversation with someone without them being censored? Unfortunately you can’t on KZfaq. It’s either KZfaq, the government or the creator of the video who censorship truth and hard facts. FUCK CENSORSHIP! What are they afraid of? It’s usually the truth that they don’t like. Having a debate or a conversation isn’t allowed anymore, bcse the idiots have all being indoctrinated. Everyone just only listen to what the government says ok! And you’ll be just fine 🧸

Thanks. Nicely put together. We often only see glimpses from the existing roads as we drive past these huge projects. A difficult project in difficult terrain with significant environmental considerations.
@robertmwoodley15023 ай бұрын
You can see how much the environment has been considered. Rainforest levelled for lousy housing and roads. Stop cities expanding into the forest!

Referred here when I saw the Hexham - Raymond Terrace Bypass video it must be a KZfaq AI thing. And Mate that was an awesome capture of a long awaited bypass i understood it was going to be very challenging bypass possibly like St Helena Tunnel was built cause Coffs is very Mountainous. I Love Coffs Harbour and im sorry for those that have lost the businesses or homes and land during the resumption im sure the NSW/Aust Gov gave you the compensation to relocate. This Bypass its not about me or the average joe trying to race from Sydney to Brisbane in 8-9 hours it's about making Coffs streets quiet again and thats a good thing because i could not stay a night at a hotel without earplugs along the main road the trucks are 24/7. This Bypass i reckon wont make a Coffs a Ghost town it make Coffs more safer for pedestrians, more quieter to sleeps. thanks for the video update i keep following your progress cheers.

I agree those qld road workers have so many days off school holidays, public holidays, weekends, rainy days, too hot days and the Bruce and Pac Mwys will be eventually built 🤣🤣and the ironic thing the qld road workers are holidaying in stuck traffic on the same roads they supposed to be building

And down here on the far south coast of NSW we've got bridges that cars and trucks won't fit going opposite direction........on the Princes Highway....one of the two major roads between Sydney and Melbourne
@JohnPittaway4 ай бұрын
Finally!! There are going to be so many relieved & happy travellers once it's finished. I can understand, to a point. why it's taken so long. It must have cost the developers a fortune in bribes & incentives to convince one of the state's shonkiest local governments to put aside their personal vested interests & let them through. Let's just hope the road builders don't have to pay local prices for their fuel, otherwise they may not be able to afford to finish it!

Totally agree but Labor is more interested in handing out how to Labor pamphlets to our new citizens that made it piss ant Australia by boat from Pakistan and Sri Lanka
@edwardhewer85304 ай бұрын
Agree. Where did Paladin spend the four million dollars per refugee per year? The munted replies not acknowledging that boat arrivals rarely occur anymore and it’s not because of offshore detention but rather active patrolling and forced returns. But ho hum, the Libs better economic managers when Labor delivers surplus…without needing to sell our gold reserves at…checks notes…at $250 per ounce.
