Hi, Love this channel. These gimmicks seemed daunting in the beginning. The first one took me about an hour. I have now made three different kinds from the channel. Amazing! Thank you! If anyone is having trouble with the thread and the tiny holes a simple wire needle threader is a great help. I am not using a needle but simply poking the needle threader through the holes and then putting the thread through it to pull it back through the hole. This saves me a lot of time with my older eyes and hands. I hope this can help others. Have a wonderful day!

I’m gonna go on the record here and say it’s a gimmicked card with a flap of some type. Big fan of the channel! Love the tutorials and the content! It’s just a reminder of every trick I’ve purchased- I see the demo and have high hopes that it’s some new technique or technology I’ve not heard of before. But more often than not, it’s nothing really new. I love this channel because Lloyd’s enthusiasm is awesome, AND his explanations of certain performance ideas, handling, moves, and decisions is incredible! His appearing sharpie cap video was a simple concept, but the tutorial of his presentation is what sold me! Great job Lloyd!

Hi Lloyd, fantastic gimmick. Do you think I could use the circle removed from the first card, cutting it into two semicircles and gluing them on the door below in order to remove the central gap? Or do you think the door would no longer work smoothly? Thanks!
@Take2Creative1
@Take2Creative1 2 жыл бұрын
Fabrizio... I thought exactly the same and did just that. It works fine and fills in the hole perfectly. I lined it up and glued it to lower card before stitching with the thread. Then just cut through the centre line once trimmed. Works great

GREAT QUESTION! And actually, I saw Wayne Fox lecture at the Cardiff Magic Society just last night and he spoke in depth about his very topic. The importance of quick visual moments in your act. I'm paraphrasing but essentially, Wayne's learned after turning professional over 30 years ago at age 23, that you can't just hit them with longer routines non-stop. You need to mix it up to keep people hooked with snappy visual moments sprinkled in amongst your set. It keeps the audience fully engaged and in the palm of your hand the entire time. I've heard other pro's talk about this too. Some have even called it a 'Sonic Boom' moment. Something that just snaps your audience's attention straight back to the room if they're starting to to get zoned out. From my experience; these are the pieces of magic that are like visual sound bites to your crowd. They're the pieces they BEG to see again and tell others about. And I think the reason for this is because they're quick moments that are easy to describe and most importantly, remember. In this instance "He literally threw the coin through the card!". As opposed to them trying to describe an ACAAN or Biddle trick for example. Hope this helps you, Igor. And if you've never added pieces like this to your routine, there's no time like the present to up the ante! Thank you for a great question!
@igorsvacic217

@@LloydB thank you for your answer lol, it is some answer :D Yea, Im not even amateur magician, Im just a fan of magic and do it here and there. So, for me, this kind of trricks hold no value at all. There are even better looking and more deceptive tricks that are also no use at all for me since if I do something for a friend I really cant say no to question for looking at something. Hell, often they wtould just take it immediately without asking at all. There are tricks that are just for social media, camera you can control completely, and perform a trick that has minimal angle to perform it. Than, on the stage a spectator will almost never ever ask to look at your props. So you can give him a card to pick, do a switch and than do it, but if I do that again, my audience would go look momentarily whats that about. I just cant perform ANYTHING where the answer for looking is no, and f you are not clean at the moment of the effect ending. Or reasonably clean.

Well, Orga, as magicians we hide/misdirect//clean up “the obvious” in almost every trick/routine we perform, do we not? It’s all about deception and presentation, this is imo a perfect little visual gem to throw in midst an act to keep the audience’ attention! Lots of love to you Lloyd - the sheep-sh***ing Calzaghe of magic - for sharing your ideas. You’re such an inspiration, make many of us exploring our own creativity further!
