I went to check my Edwardian Pennies, no special varieties found. Happy to have a good quality 1902,1903,1904, 1907, 1909 and 1910. Good ones are not easy to find. Thanks for this video, much appreciated.

I am not a coin collector but I do have a very good condition 1902 I found between 2 kitchen floorboards when I lifted some old lino of an old country house here in Australia.

I first started collecting old pre decimal coins, mainly pennies in 1966 aged 11 years. Due to various factors, like serving in Her Majesty's Armed Forces I lost touch. Nowadays I collect 50p pieces but also have many coins from across the world. Coins from Africa, like Kenya, that have holes in the middle, presumably because most Kenyans of the period didn't have pockets, so kept their money on string necklaces! I have a number of obtainable tools I use to determine dates on coins that some collectors may find helpful. Two I use a lot are ... a basic magnifying glass, though the better the quality, the better the view. And I got myself a basic battery operated microscope for looking at faded areas. And finally an ultraviolet light that I use on bank notes to ascertain if they're authentic or just " monopoly" money. There's an acid test that can "bring forth" dates of coins, but, well it's an acid, say no more! Hope this helps fellow collectors.😊

I have all Edward V11 pennies including 1902 low tide in UNC or almost UNC condition .

I enjoyed that. Very informative. My Grandmother gave me her penny collection in the mid 60s which I then added to for a while before putting it away in the "old nick nack stuff" biscuite tin. Perhaps it's time I took a closer look at them. 🙂

Hi Paul, just found you & have subbed. As a lad in the 50's & 60's l collected coins from change. All pennies & 1/2p's from 1860. All silver from early to 1946. Still have to this day!! The 2 best finds were a 1953 penny and 1871 1/2p. (also 1952 6p). The 1871 1/2p was mint which l stupidly sold in the 70's for £15!! Cheers, John.

It'll never stop being funny to me how overly positive the 'official' coin grades sound. For example "Good" condition is actually really bad 😂

how do these variations come about? i always imagined that the Royal Mint just set the equipment up and cracked on and just made the coins.

Hi Paul, can you or one of your followers tell me if a 1909 reverse E is worth more than a 1902 low tide penny? In the late 1970's I bought a UNC 1902 low tide penny off of SPINK, no idea what it's worth today but I won't sell it anyway. My fist time hearing of this 1909 variety, thanks!
