Che bello vedere una macchina vecchia tornare bella e precisa meglio che nuova anche perché la ghisa è invecchiata e migliora le proprie caratteristiche e le guide prismatiche così rettificate e senza difetti fanno brillare gli occhi agli amanti dalle macchine utensili... Solo chi ama questi reperti di archeologia industriale può capire😂😂

Do you have to build up the underside of the saddle so that the apron fits to the correct height for the rack/leadscrew engagement? Obviously dependant on the amount of bed wear Beautiful work btw

In most cases, you can't remove material from above the apron due to cross slide feed gear engagement. Dependant on customer's budget and amount of wear, turcite B can be used to replace worn/removed material.

Im not sure when Colchester started hardening there beds but this one was, early ones may have bean fame hardened rather than induction hardened
