well... since this fusion occurs in plants I'd guess you would still need some elements of organic material if not a living cells to make it happen -- that would be kinda hard to incorporate to our society; not impossible but not really easy either... after all, if we assume we go the Ancient way then we will rely on tech rather than organic like the Wraith or the Nox

Even if Lanea didn't take the samples with her when she left the SGC and even if she gave Carter the correct formula for the activators they would still need to synthesize the activators and learn to cultivate the plant. Compared to the Naquada generators they were able to build not to long afterwards who they completely understand, don't stop working if you forget to water them, can never get sick, don't die in space... They may just not be worth the trouble (at least in the short term). It may also be that the SGC is still trying to get the plant to work but just hasn't been able to but with the addition of the Asgard computer core they probably have better ways to create fusion anyway

Well it's not that she never saw one. Remember that's a prison she got sent to. To do what she does, clearly she came from an advanced place. Perhaps she got access to Goauld tech and being a genius was able to understand it. And being as ruthless as them, she was able to gain access to knowledge SG-1 wouldn't have. A lot of what she's talking about, like organic fusion is probably elementary compared to what the Goauld know. So I'm sure she had access to computers hence here abilities. The other possibility is she originally came from an advanced Human society, like the ones that made the quantum mirror. Maybe that society was wiped out or enslaved by the Goauld. And because of the later episode where she's made young, there's actually no telling how old she might actually be.

Who's to say she never had a computer? Remember what computers were before electronic computers, they were rooms of people each tasked with performing specific calculations on a spread sheet and sending it to the desk of another individual through the mail boy. This type of computer existed well into the 70's. Being able to design the work flow of such a computer can be more complex than our existing programs. Then there was a time when computers were made of IBM punch card sorting machines, they could only sort and collate yet they handled all accounting functions. I spent a month writing Unix scripts that only used the sort and uniq functions to try and see if I could emulate the way those old sorting machines worked and wound up with a wide range of very useful scripts. Pretty much anything can be a "computer", it's all a matter of how clever the programmer can be.

@@Ragitsu The idea that we use heavy isotopes to make nuclear reactors, but on a scale minaturized like they show on SG-1, the lack or the minute amount of shielding that MK1 Naquadah power generators have makes me guess that it is a LENR system, only my guess, nothing else. Lattice Confined Fusion+Oppenheimer-phillips reactions have now been confirmed by a team of NASA scientists, it's imo the most promising simple method of nuclear reactions of hydrogen isotopes within a heavy isotope lattice structure. The presence of heavy element lattice can screen out the effect of electrostatic repulsion forces such as those between protons(hydrogen), allowing easier fusion and other LENR interactions.
