I'm 76 years old and I've had cold hands and feet every winter for all of my adult life because of low thyroid (hypothyroidism). Several years ago I found out that you can really ease low thyroid symptoms by taking ten drops of Lugol's iodine every day, along with ten drops of selenium every other day. I found out later that taking ten drops of manganese every other day also helps, and taking a teaspoon of tyrosine powder every day really helps. I also found out that eating goitrogen foods can aggravate low thyroid. The foods highest in goitrogens are peanuts and cruciferous veggies (brocolli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower et al). Of course peanut butter is the worst. I hope this helps someone.

Well, at least for me it's much more effective to turn palms up to warm up the blood vessels on top of the hand, of course alternating palms up and down, but mostly palms up is better for me. :)
