Hello. I live in Edmonton. Last year we planted 6 beautiful kinds of roses in May. They gave us so many wonderful and gorgeous roses. Unfortunately, after the winter, they didn’t cone back. We learned we needed to plant roses with winter hardiness across Canada. So we just bought more roses and this one is one of them. You give her hope this one will survive winter.

They have a nice soft colour and a sweet scent but not too strong.

I couldn’t agree more! I’ve grown several types of roses and this is by far the most prolific bloomer. …I don’t know why people say they’re not fragrant -mine smells incredible. ! It’s only two years old and is already 5 feet and bushy and just flowers nonstop- I wish I could post a picture here! I would love to have other rosebushes from this breeding program /variety in other colours?? my others have far more black spot on them. We have had a lot of rain this. year in N. Ontario though… my white iceberg rose is four years old. It’s only a third of the size with black spot on almost every leaf. :( Unfortunately, the Japanese beetles also love them ! the only downside really to growing roses. It’s a constant battle! that and sawfly. Lol Thanks for posting your video…What a great deal u got! Mine was a splurge at $50! Best money I’ve spent though for an expensive plant…🌸💜

Hi Jacqueline, what a wonderful rose, stunning color and bud shape! Group plantings of roses look very beautiful and harmonious with companions. Unfortunately, I didn’t find this rose in our nurseries. I can recommend another rose of the Canadian old selection (1977) - Prairie Joy, it has beautiful foliage, pink flowers, winter-hardy, of course. But you already have another my favorite - Morden blush rose - she is gorgeous) Thank you for reviewing Chinook rose!

Hello I actually may have found Chinook Sunrise at Veseys I sent them an email to confirm cause the picture in their catalog looked pink. The description is correct though so waiting to hear back to see if it is the same rose. Noreen blush is gorgeous I will definitely look for the one you mentioned. I would like to add more varieties of roses to my garden in the Spring.
