Жыл бұрын

For this cold process soap I was approached by the wonderful people at Micamoma to see if I would like to be sent some micas to try out and to make a soap and video. Micamoma have such great quality micas and I use them all the time, so it was an easy decision to say yes.
The colours I received were so lovely that I wanted to put them all in a soap together, so decided on a column pour soap.

Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I, therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

They've come out really well, Lisa. In acrylic pouring, this is know as a Star Burst pour. The finished results are always beautiful ❤

Thanks so much Jacqui, yes you're right I think it was brought over from acrylic pouring, I didn't know the name though, so that's cool to know.

That's so cool! I've never seen anyone do a bottle bottom pour with soap. I love the pattern! It reminds me of end papers in old hard cover books. I like seeing how each bar looks when you cut slab mold soaps like this. It's like each individual bar is a reveal of its own. 🥰

Oh, they are really pretty! I live in the States, and I think I will make this soap at Thanksgiving, because the colors and swirl patterns look like a fancy (or fanciful) turkey tail! Thank you so much for always firing up my imagination! Your videos totally rock!

My favourite Friday upload is here, yay! I do love the new micas, especially the purple and the caribou. So nearly a rainbow, but not quite... But it was pretty for sure. As I watched you cut this soap and display it, it made something quite clear for me. This soap, like the fairy one produces bars that are just to big to easily handle... Have you considered making them guest bars at half the size? (Even if you sold them as a twin pack) Hope you're well, certainly been keeping us going down here.

We here across the pond are also lucky to have 2 very good mica providers--Nurture Soap & Mad Micas. They work lovely and stay true to color. I am glad you can get Natures Garden fragrances they are also very good and soooo many to choose from.

Yes, you are lucky over there as soap making is so much more popular, in the UK we do have a lot of good suppliers and some really wonderful fragrance suppliers, they're just a bit harder to find and reviews are non existent so you have to test everything yourself

Thanks so much, I don't think the colours will change much, sometimes I find they brighten a bit as the cure happens and the water goes. For this one I'm not sure yet as it's still pretty new.

I know you aren't the biggest fan of the slab mould but these bars turned out fantastic! I really like the blue color, I think if you were to make a soapy bird that color it would make for a really cheery bar! (Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud...)

Some people are against the use of mica paint. do you know why? I will be glad if you share Informative video. Thank you. Your soap looks great
@IDreamInSoap
@IDreamInSoap 11 ай бұрын
Some people like what they call a natural soap. Mica is a mined product, so it's sort of natural, but it's processed after extraction. There are cases of child labour and bad practices in mica production, so you need to be careful that you choose a supplier who has good ethics and certifies that their micas are responsibly sourced
