That Chaos blade really impressed me. On camera at least, the Chaos was penetrating that sheet metal much deeper. At least it looked like the slots were twice as wide. I need one for the apocalypse, or at least the Ruski invasion!
@fit4knives8822 жыл бұрын
In my opinion the Chaos did do a bit better in the tests do to it's size. If you want a lighter and agile blade go for the APOC. If you want an intimidating monster blade go for the Chaos.
@LegionTacticoolCutlery2 жыл бұрын
I own both and wish I could get rid of the center metal that just messes up a solid handle grip. Just a regular d-guard.
@fit4knives8822 жыл бұрын
I agree. Just the D-guard would be awesome!

Best part of this test were those failed throws. Some knives tend to break when throwed like that so nice to see those survived ^^

Both are trench knives. So, they are fighting knives. Not bushcraft or working knives. I was a bit missing to have more information about which one is easier to move, which one is more agile and maneuverable, where are the points of balance. Less about which one cuts deeper in a broomstick. Which one would you take in an operating situation? Which one would you take in a fight, when you run out of other devices? Or is this too much off pc?! No offence, just constructive criticism. I wish you every success and peace.
@fit4knives8822 жыл бұрын
Really good points. I agree with you 100%. After I made this video I realized I should have done more tests how they are intended to be used. Not worry about being demonetized. No offense taken. Thanks for honest criticism.

First video I watched on your channel and good enough to subscribe! I have to admit I was not even remotely close to even thinking about purchasing a Trench Bowie but your video made me want one, I’ve seen videos before but I’m now seriously considering the APOC Trench Bowie as a next purchase! Personally I like the APOC design better and also like that it is all one piece thru the tang, this big-blade can be carried on belt or pack and price point is spot-on.

Came across your channel researching the Chaos. I must admit, the visual lines on the APOC does it for me, it’s just SEXY. But, the Chaos, I just ordered it based on this review. You gained a new SUB! Great presentation, no BS, just gave us your thoughts as you see it. Solid!!! Keep up the good work! RLTW!!!!!

Shoulda done a punch test to see which one felt better in the hand. If you have a knuckle bow, use it!😀

I thought about that after I was done with the video. I may do a short follow up vid doing a punch test for these 2 blades.

@@fit4knives882 just based on your video, I'd say the Cold Steel Bowie will win that one. The knuckle bow looks more comfortable for punching.

Thank You, most informative indeed. Was looking at the CHAOS which might be a bit much for some smaller hands and that APOC, with some TLC sanding of the sharper grip areas, might just be the ticket for those individuals (that APOC is new to me, thanks). In learning a particular knife discipline system, knives like these can excel, reach being a major factor in the training, penetration being secondary; that APOC with the lesser cross section up front will do quite well and be easier to withdraw. Still trying to decide if the "D" type handles are better (or not) for certain fighting techniques, like swapping hands and such. Much practice will be needed. -- Edit: New viewer and new subscriber, just now. So far I love your content and style.

Combat type knives, especially trench fighters are more for stabbing and slashing rather than cleaving through bone

I'm impressed with how well the coldsteel did. They were really liked but I've seen a lot of failures.
@florentleider22210 ай бұрын
the chaos is heavier, hence has more inertia when thrown, or slashing a broom. But in combat this inertia is contra productive by slowing down any thrust. I think the chaos is better as a tool, but apoc is better in close combat.

Those test are more appropriate for a bushcraft knife vs a fighting knife. In a fighting knife I want something light and quick in my hand.

Pretty nice. Call me old fashioned but im not super fond of sub hilts. They always seem to be in an awkward spot & I hate that it limits my grip options.
@rnkmode187610 ай бұрын
I used to feel that way but imo the CS Subhilt knives are pretty awesome and you don't really need to go reverse grip on them, I have the OSS and the Marauder, both awesome and very light compared to other clunky blades in similar size. If you plan on using a reverse grip in penetration, I would use a tad smaller blade like maybe a CS SRK or a Dagger.

I've used and collected CS since 1987. Suck-cure-ex will ruin a knife edge. I don't want to hear "draw it right". Take some real Kydex. Drag the edge on it, repeat test with Secure-ex. Check the edge. Enough excuses CS. if your going to use that stuff , make the sheathes right.
